I'm awake as 5 year old ds has been awake since 11 with awful sickness and Diarrhea. Having a horrible night and I'm definitely not going to get any sleep even if he manages to drift off for a while! what's everyone else up to???

Thismummyruns · 10/03/2019 03:05

I'm up eating Rice Krispies and Terry's Chocolate Orange just for the hell of it. This isn't isolated to tonight either.

*Pregnant with heartburn.

My toddler has been up for 2 hours and is now crying because she's tired. So am I.

Dd woke me at 1 couldn't stop coughing. Eventually got her settled at 2 but now DH is snoring and I want to commit murder.
To be honest I'm always awake for a few hours most nights... Something always wakes me. I'm so fed up of it.

blueberrymuffin88 · 10/03/2019 03:10

My 7 month baby woke us up screaming at 1.00am and we've only just managed to get her back to sleep. The usual nighttime breastfeed didn't work and we literally tried everything else apart from Calpol. DH managed to get her to sleep in the end by rocking her. Still no idea what was wrong 🤷🏻‍♀️

babycakes1010 · 10/03/2019 03:13

Have been on 12 hour shifts...normally get up at 4am but have woken earlier even tho I'm nights tonight Flowers

SatsumaFan · 10/03/2019 03:18

@Hangingtrousers ditto. It's so frustrating isn't it? I'm usually asleep around 11pm, then awake at 1am briefly, then wide awake between 3am - 4am most mornings. It's rare I "sleep through the night" these days, which is so frustrating as the rest of the house certainly do and have done for years!

Gave in to the hunger and just came downstairs for a bowl of cereal. Sigh.

Hangingtrousers · 10/03/2019 03:27

Yep. Never sleep though the night and my 5 and 2 year old usually do. DH definitely does.

Autumnchill · 10/03/2019 03:30

Cracked my tooth tonight so the pain has woken me up 😩

Angeladelight · 10/03/2019 03:37

I’m awake because I had a pretty disturbing nightmare that I can’t shake!

SureTry · 10/03/2019 03:38

DS16 months stirs a lot during the night, we co sleep so I spend most of the night being a human dummy 😩 I had to slide out of bed to go to the loo and could hear him stirring so rushed back to settle him again. He's now blissfully asleep, DP is in the spare room as his snoring is horrific, it's now started to rain and the wind is blowing it directly at the window.

I lay here most nights thinking why do I bother to go to bed, it's pointless, I certainly don't get any quality sleep.

Awks · 10/03/2019 03:46

Awake because teen dd is out on a night out and I never sleep till she's in safely.

peanutbutterandbananas · 10/03/2019 03:47

Much like SureTry, I'm trying to cajole 17 month old back to sleep, it's been on and off for three hours!

daffodilbrain · 10/03/2019 03:56

Jet lag. I've been grumpy all day with no energy and pinged awake after 4 hrs sleep. Wondering where I'm going to find the energy from this get through tomorrow and be normal again For work on Monday

SatsumaFan · 10/03/2019 03:59

@Angeladelight so sorry Sad do you want to talk about it? I woke up crying on Saturday morning because of a dream I was having.

RosieEffect · 10/03/2019 04:03

4 days overdue and can't sleep. Stressing bc I'm desperate to have this baby before Friday. Also stressing I'll end up needing to be induced and then have a c-section which I'm also desperate to avoid. Sad

Mocha3105 · 10/03/2019 04:09

Awake because I'm on a night shift. Roll on 8am and home time 😴

Sarcelle · 10/03/2019 04:12

Big dinner, wine and menopausal hot flushes are not a great combo for sleep. Woke up in a panic (menopause again, inexplicable anxiety) and sitting on my new (uncomfortable*) sofa killing time before I feel ready for sleep again.

sashh · 10/03/2019 04:26

I'm always awake early, some days earlier than other, hoping to see the foxes this morning.

Jamhandprints · 10/03/2019 04:27

3 kids in the bed, period and OH is out. Not long til they start waking up now!

tobee · 10/03/2019 04:31

Because I'm an idiot.

Normally a night owl these days but this is really bad. I nearly get back to a better pattern and it goes again at the drop of hat. No one has to get up early as people work/study etc at funny hours in this house. It's really hard to change the pattern if you don't have an incentive for some days. I may as well be jet lagged except I've not been anywhere.

littleyellowpencil · 10/03/2019 04:35

Needed a wee lol

sanityisamyth · 10/03/2019 04:38

Just been informed by my 5 year old (at 4.30) that we didn't do our "hug, kiss and a high 5" routine before bedtime. Great!!

violeticecream · 10/03/2019 04:39

Ds 18 got home ten mins ago. Had to be up at 7.30. Woke me to ask me to set my alarm so I can wake him up! Now I am awake 😕

ThomasRichard · 10/03/2019 04:56

violeticecream I hope you gave him a bollocking and told him to set his own alarm (phone?!) and to stop being so selfish!

I’m awake because my kitchen’s being refitted and I’m angry at the plumber for being a useless, condescending git who’s left us without heating and hot water for a week and a half. Then I remembered that he was supposed to do some other bits he hasn’t done so looked up the original task list and quote and fired off an email to the project manager telling them that I don’t want him back in my house and to call me to sort it out.
