What's everyone up to today?

I'm not at work until 12 today so am currently lounging about in my pj's, drinking coffee. Both girls are still sleeping!

They'll spend the afternoon with their dad while I'm at work. Only dd2 has homework so will get him to help with that since it's raining & windy so I doubt they'll go far.

When I get in, I'll prep Hunter's chicken for tea and drink wine! Might even run myself a bubble bath.

What about you lot? :)

We're going on holiday in a fortnight and last night DH announced he needed new clothes so we're going out for them. We'll, also, get suncream and toiletries while we're out.

I'm downstairs drinking tea waiting for him, apparently I should be upstairs helping him decide if his trousers fit! 🙄

When we get home I shall do some crochet and no doubt he'll potter in the garage.

Dh is working all day (double shift, was in 8-3, will maybe have a break, then in again until 11ish tonight, maybe a bit later if it's busy)
I'm at home with ds. Should do my weekly clean and tackle the ironing. But he's full of cold, I've been full of cold for a few days now. Nose non stop, chest sore from coughing. So thinking it can wait until I'm feeling a bit better, and having a nice relaxing day with ds (and plenty of tissues close by) instead. Feel very guilty for not doing it but don't feel like like it at all.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 09/03/2019 09:17

Me and my DD19 months are both sick, curled up on the sofa today with sore throats and temperatures watching mr tumble.....I think this is our wkend ! Sad

lucysmam · 09/03/2019 09:19

happymummy don't feel guilty, the cleaning will wait until you're feeling better!

TheFairyCaravan that made me smile about your dh needing help to decide if his trousers fit Grin

Just had our Saturday morning cooked breakfast made by DH who has now gone to work for the day. Kids and I will walk the dog and then to language school for the morning, then over to my parents for the DCs to have a sleepover. DBro should be there too with DNeph who is 6mo and the most adorable squish. Then tonight DH and I are out to the theatre and pick DCs up in the morning! It should be a brilliant day (as long as my parents don't start in criticising my weight/career/hair/skin/etc ad nauseam).

Helping a friend with the joy of Instagram
Sitting through Caltain Marvel with three 10 year olds, oh joy
Night out with friends to make up for it

BlueMerchant · 09/03/2019 09:22

Stressed!!!!!. Got friends arriving lunchtime for DH Birthday. Need to be the outgoing, great, smiley hostess. My anxiety level can't be healthy. Laid on bed trying to think of anything but the impending day.

TrashPanda · 09/03/2019 09:23

I've just had my wisdom tooth taken out and I'm waiting for DP to collect me so I can go home. Under strict instructions not to run around after the kids so I'll not be doing much for the rest of the day.

TheChippendenSpook · 09/03/2019 09:26

I'm going to football. I'm a Blackpool fan and it's a momentus day for us âš½

DownUdderer · 09/03/2019 09:26

I had a nice walk beside the lake today :) I’m in Australia

Pascha · 09/03/2019 09:27

I'm taking Ds1 swimming while DH takes ds2 for new shoes and a haircut. (Ds1 got all that last weekend while ds2 was poorly). Then homework, ironing, dinner etc later on. It'll all fit in somehow.

A very mundane weekend.

Bunnybigears · 09/03/2019 09:29

DS2 and DH are at a swimming gala. Its DS2s first ever gala and it is regional championships so I'm glad I couldn't go as I would be more nervous than him! DS1s footie match hs been rained off so he is going homework and I am cleaning. This afternoon Ddog has a doggy playdate I predict he will get very muddy!

MintToBee · 09/03/2019 09:29

I'm going to try on my wedding dress with all the accessories to see if it all gels as soon as DP goes out. Grin

happymummy12345 · 09/03/2019 09:37

Lucysmam thanks Smile. I know really it's 'just a cold and we should carry on'. But I think today I'll just do the things I NEED to do, and the rest can wait.

Downudderer I'm jealous, it's one of the (many) places I'd love to visit one day.

MintToBee how lovely, I'm sure you'll look wonderful

Grosserygangrule · 09/03/2019 09:38

Cleaned the house, except for hoovering which will do in a bit. Usually house stuff of washing etc. Off to the park this afternoon with ds, just a lazy day really

MyBreadIsEggy · 09/03/2019 09:41

My DH has been away the last few weeks (thank you Ministry of defence Hmm), and the weekends with two bored toddlers are a killer. So today I’ve decided to make the 2 and a half hour trek to my parents just for an extra pair of hands to entertain these feral beasts for a few hours!

lucysmam · 09/03/2019 09:41

Oooh MintToBee how exciting!

Bunnybigears good luck to your ds 🤞

The washer's finished so I ought to move and empty it really, but I've just made a fresh coffee & it's still soooo quiet with the girls asleep!

Just got myself and DD's ready to go food shopping. Dh is working today, and when he gets home we're going out for dinner with the in laws 😋

Then tonight I'm dropping my eldest at a party with her friends and coming home to relax for the evening with a large archers and lemonade (or 5)

happypotamus · 09/03/2019 10:11

Oh, God knows! DC1 should go to a swimming lesson, but might cry and decide she is too scared to go in like the last couple of weeks. She has at least got dressed this week and ready to go, and we are rewarding her with money for being brave enough to go and try (might not be the best parenting strategy, but an improvement on DH's plan to punish her for being too scared to go)
DC were supposed to go to sleep at in-laws today, but DH fell out with his parents when he rang them yesterday to discuss timings etc, so now I don't know whether he can fix this. So, maybe they will go to in-laws this afternoon and I will be able to tidy the house and possibly even relax, or I will have to entertain very disappointed DC this afternoon who won't understand why they are now not sleeping at their grandparents' house.

Camomila · 09/03/2019 10:32

Tidy flat
Make 2x homemade cards
Work on 2x uni assignments
Send off 3x job applications

I have sent DH and DS away (to the playground and for a happy meal)
I’m allowing myself till 11 to stress eat junk food and go on mn and then I will get started.

aurynne · 09/03/2019 10:41

It's almost midnight where I am, and I am working a 12 hour night shift (7 pm to 7 am,) in a primary maternity unit. 2 families in the unit, I love working here :)

NotAnotherNameChange99 · 09/03/2019 10:51

MWR March in London! Am on the train right now Grin

anothermansmother · 09/03/2019 14:11

I've been up since just before 7 as my neighbour started drilling the mother side of my bedroom wall. I thought he'd done it last weekend when he did the same thing why he can't do it on a week day I'll never know! I've tidied up and done some washing. I have a beauticians appointment at 4 and then I'll go and do my food shop. The get my ironing done and mark done exam papers ready for the week ahead.

gallicgirl · 09/03/2019 14:16

very little. DS has woken me at 5:30am for the last 4 days and I don't have the energy to do much other than drink coffee and munch jaffa cakes.

I might try to tear the kids away from the tv to do some baking in a bit.

sleepalldays · 09/03/2019 14:22

Walked the dogs this morning, heading out now to get some paint, bank etc. Then job interview at 4.

Probably get something nice for dinner on way home (M&S) then workout before bed.
