What’s everyone cooking today?
It’s foul weather here so I’m doing my ham in coke with cauli and broccoli cheese, red cabbage and mashed swede
But I am in a bit of rut with Sunday meals and don’t want to do a roast every week.
All ideas appreciated

We're having Chinese style sticky pork with sesame noodles.

Pork fillet with a rub, roast potatoes, veg and applesauce. The run is a take on one we bought last year.

I was making beef and onion pie with roast potatoes, broccoli and asparagus but reading the lamb and boulangerie recipe (which is lovely) I decided to top the pie with those potatoes instead of pastry.

Chicken salad for lunch. Cottage pie, carrots and cauliflower for dinner and I made Chelsea buns for after.

Roast sweet potatoes topped with kidney beans and guacomole. Not very 'Sunday dinner' but DH turned vegan and I was struggling to think of vegan meals that DDs would eat.

@happypotamus that sounds delicious and is going straight on my meal plan for next week! Plain kidney beans or the ones in tomato sauce warmed up?

cliffdiver · 03/03/2019 19:23

We usually always have a roast on Sunday but DH was working today.

I made a prawn and asparagus risotto.

DD1 hated it and ended up with a marmite sandwich.

DD2 cried that she didn't like prawns anymore so picked them out.

Should have just cooked a roast!

They were plain, but ones in tomato sauce would probably be nicer.

The recipe didn't even say to heat the beans but I did. We also put sour cream/ some sort of vegan alternative on them.

@happypotamus that’s really kind, thank you!
