What’s everyone cooking today?
It’s foul weather here so I’m doing my ham in coke with cauli and broccoli cheese, red cabbage and mashed swede
But I am in a bit of rut with Sunday meals and don’t want to do a roast every week.
All ideas appreciated

Chinese style pork (diced pork marinated in soy, ginger, garlic and a weeny bit of 5 spice) with rice and salad. Pancakes for after as we won't do them properly on Tuesday!

After watching James Martin yesterday we are giving this a go as something different to do with a chicken. Then we found a raspberry & gin Eton mess in Lidl for dessert.

Homemade sausage rolls and veggie falafel rolls, beetroot salad, green salad, roasted veg couscous, hummus and other raw salad veg (tomatoes, pepper, cucumber).

Was absolutely delicious, everyone could pick and mix their own plateful.

I used up some Panettone frozen at Christmas to make a bread and butter pudding served with a scoop of ice cream for pudding.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 03/03/2019 13:47

Bacon, sweet potato, artichoke and cream bake. First time making it, saw an ad for it and nicked the idea.

Crunchymum · 03/03/2019 13:48

My lot aren't massive roast fans so I don't do them very often (only do a 'proper' roast for Xmas and Easter really). I do variations but not particularly on a Sunday? I do slow roasted lamb neck fillets with minted new potatoes and green veg or roast chicken, mash and corn on the cob or beef in red wine sauce with veg and buttery baby new potatoes.... rarely a conventional roast though.

I just made this: www.aglugofoil.com/2011/09/lamb-with-boulangere-potatoes-recipe.html

That lamb with Boulangere potatoes looks seriously lush

I was about to post the same thread!

We're having bangers & mash, with carrotts and broccoli, and yorkshire puds just because. I was going to do onion gravy but I forgot onions...I need to rethink tomorrow's tea too though. I was going to do chicken casserole but haven't got any mushrooms to go in it either . Unless I chuck in a load of veggies.

Pudding will be a giant cookie and keep my fingers crossed there's ice cream left for my pudding pancake on Tuesday because I forgot that too

Carrot, black olive and feta salad
bean stew with sweet potato mash
cheese and fruit

I woke up with loads of energy thinking I'd cook a 3 course meal. Knackered thinking about it now.

onlyhereforthefood · 03/03/2019 14:17

Macaroni cheese with garlicky mushrooms in in, with crusty bread and butter on the side.

Vanillamanilla1 · 03/03/2019 14:20

Slow cooked lamb shanks in a homemade red wine jus
Buttery mash and green beans

Chocolateheaven123 · 03/03/2019 14:22

Lemon and herb fish goujons, chips made in the Actifry, with salad or peas . DP is also making tea so even better Smile

FurryDogMother · 03/03/2019 14:23

Brown butter poached halibut with celeriac puree and caper crumbs only without the crumbs (might use pulverised pork scratchings - a Tom Kerridge idea) 'cos am low carbing :)

Pretamum · 03/03/2019 14:25

Roast pork belly with some serious crackling, roast potatoes, carrots, broccoli and green beans. Trying to be a bit healthier than usual at the moment so no sausage meat stuffing or yorkshires this week, and no pudding. At least there will be crackling!

Florencenotflo · 03/03/2019 14:28

Macaroni cheese with bacon in it. Plus DH has just gone out for garlic bread, he's knackered and I'm 15 weeks pregnant and craving carbs! I will have some broccoli and green beans with mine just to even put the carbs and cheese!

Nobhobs · 03/03/2019 14:33

Burgers and sweet potato fries!

TheChippendenSpook · 03/03/2019 14:38

I've just had a big fat fry up!

boxlikeamarchhare · 03/03/2019 14:39

This pork loin recipe, cauliflower cheese, something green, carrots, new potatoes.

CookieSwirlC · 03/03/2019 14:41

Beef and ale stew with carrots, broccoli, roast potatoes, Yorkshire’s, peas and possibly mash.

Pancakes for pudding as we won’t have time on Tuesday to make them.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 03/03/2019 14:44

Roast chicken and baked potatoes.

Dillyson · 03/03/2019 14:44

Bloody Mary beef with mashed potatoes and broccoli.
I might make an apple pie as well.

MyfanwyMontez · 03/03/2019 14:47
