My name is Flurgle and I’m a stationery addict. I’m not alone right?

I’ve just spent hours searching online for the perfect item of stationery. It will change my life, make me more organised and I will be happy.
Whyyyyyyyy???!!
Realistically I know I will smile at it happily, use it for a few days then it will languish in a cupboard till I give it to someone with a child who will like it.

Disclaimer- I’m not actually looking for real help. I just want people to agree that this is perfectly normal and maybe tell me about their own stationery Grin

Hi Flurgle you are perfectly normal 😁 I’m perfectly normal too but a stationery addict, but I buy mine and keep it stacked in beautifully laid out displays! When I was a young teenager my friends would be in the local clothes and record shops whereas I’d be in the local stationery shop drooling over the pens, pads and paper. It was a tiny family owned business and I used to beg for a Saturday job!
I’ve recently discovered wrendale designs have you seen them OP?

Mumberjack · 07/03/2019 19:59

Glasgow has a massive Paperchase over two floors. I spent a whole lunch hour there once. Managed to rein myself in - only bought a journal, but to be honest I could have spent hundreds.
I think it’s the new term feeling you get when you open a new notebook or use a fancy new one for the first time Grin

Mumberjack · 07/03/2019 19:59

Pen, not one

PinkSmitterton · 07/03/2019 20:01

I found my people!

I also bujo...

MightyAtlantic · 07/03/2019 20:03

I have found my people! Can't resist a notebook and I want pens in all the colours! I don't go near the stationery cupboard at work because it's all so drab, I take my own in. My colleagues think I'm bonkers for doing this.

MeltingWax · 07/03/2019 20:05

I have just started some private teaching in the evenings. I may have just spent most of the money I made in the first week on stationery I really don't need in order to do the job Blush.

PinkSmitterton · 07/03/2019 20:05

Sorry, pressed send too soon. In my defence I'm off work ill and it's left me confused and unable to function in an ordinary way Confused

YANBU to buy beautiful stationary in the hope it will make your life better.

I really like felt style pens for writing and dingbats or paperblank notebooks.

DareDevil223 · 07/03/2019 20:06

Pretty notebook addict here. Buying notebooks makes me happy as I love making lists and recording things Smile

BoomTish · 07/03/2019 20:09

I’ve found my people.

My notebooks have to have:
Placemarker ribbon
An elastic closure band
A pen loop

Wolfiefan · 07/03/2019 20:12

I spent ages last night looking for the perfect weekly planner pad. Blush

Moorfields · 07/03/2019 20:31

I give you my secret stationary supplier, I can't get enough of their goodies!

PrettyAmazingGrace · 07/03/2019 20:43

@BoomTish, yes!! Why doesn't everyone know this?!!

TheNoodlesIncident · 07/03/2019 20:45

I can spend hours browsing the stationery aisle in any shop. I have drawers in my desk I'm quietly stocking up with every possible type of stationery and similar items like maths sets, calculators, colouring pencils, erasers, etc.

I already have a paper trimmer and laminator

thislidofullofdeadfish · 07/03/2019 20:46

We have a home on MN but it doesn’t get much traffic

Have you found Cult Pens? I divert quite a large proportion son my income to them.

PrivateIsles · 07/03/2019 20:52

Ah Moorfields Castelli is amazing isn't it? Also Legami (sp?). We were in Italy last summer, had a lovely time browsing the stationery shops.

At the moment, my favourite item is my Kaweco fountain pen - it's quite retro looking. And you can get loads of different colour cartridges.

Cult Pens is a great website for stationery enthusiasts...

PrivateIsles · 07/03/2019 20:53

lido x-post on Cult Pens! I love them.

BoomTish · 07/03/2019 20:57

I also have a serious addiction to fountain pens Blush

Latest purchase have been a beautiful Ploom, and a Lamy Vista which is clear.

Flurgle · 07/03/2019 21:00

Wolfie that’s what I was looking for!
Two floors of Paperchase...
Nothing compares to a new notebook!

Flurgle* you are not alone. I've recently converted to BuJo, having spent an eternity searching for the perfect planner. BuJo seems to work for me. I've pretty Staedtler fineliners in a myriad of colours and stickers for it Grin

MulticolourMophead · 07/03/2019 21:09

I have a Ploom, but actually, they look pretty and are not as good as other pens. I've found I got a spot of ink on the barrel, and it's not coming off, and the grip isn't at all comfortable.

I'm thinking of getting a Parson's Essential.......

Slowknitter · 07/03/2019 21:10

I wasn't a stationery addict until I discovered journalling. My current journal is a Hobonichi from Japan. I'm too ashamed to even hint at how much it cost...

ButterflyBitch · 07/03/2019 21:11

BusyB have recently re styled their a5/a6 notebooks and they’re great. They’ve got 20% off notebooks at the mo withcode WOMEN20 (I promise I don’t work for them) I’ve got 2 so far.

April241 · 07/03/2019 21:12

Massive stationery and planner addict here. Have spent silly amounts of time and money on planners, pens and stickers and I PR for a sticker shop.

LOVE
