Just got the email and they will no longer be supplying Waitrose goods but M and S instead.

We’ll stop using them. I dislike m&s food. Have never understood the attraction and why everyone raves about it.

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 02/03/2019 09:05

I’m delighted! We’ll get the everyday stuff from Sainsbury’s and Aldi and lovely delivered treats from M&S.

CakeNinja · 02/03/2019 09:06

Not keen, not a fan of M&S personally. Mainly use ocado because I’ve found Waitrose supply and delivery very hit and miss in the past.

didireallysaythat · 02/03/2019 09:07

It doesn't start until sept 2020 so I'm deferring judgement

MarshaBradyo · 02/03/2019 09:08

M&S food is not nice so if there’s not enough for me to buy I’ll have to go elsewhere

Annoyed I get two deliveries a week atm

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 02/03/2019 09:12

I think that there are a lot of basic household necessities, not necessarily food, that M&S don’t do, so won’t people have to use other supermarkets as well?

flugelhorn811 · 02/03/2019 09:32

I'll stop using them too - don't think m&s food is good quality and there's not as large a range. I'm really disappointed!

EachandEveryone · 02/03/2019 09:42

They will still sell their usual supermarket basics.

I'm gutted. We use Ocado as Waitrose direct can be very unreliable with the amount of substitutions but our shop is probably 80% Waitrose foods. I do like M & S fruit and veg but it's not in large enough quantities for a family and we don't eat ready meals so think it will be too restrictive for us.

I will be cancelling my smart pass and moving over to Waitrose.

FudgeBrownie2019 · 02/03/2019 10:01

Waitrose Essentials and Waitrose ranges are fab for weekly shopping, so M&S might need to broaden their offerings if they're going to actively compete.

We do our weekly shop on Ocado simply because they've always been great, I think we'll stick with them when they switch and just see how they compare, then make a decision as to who we stay with.

chandylier · 02/03/2019 10:06

But not their own brand basics?
I like m and s, but really used to my usual shop with Ocado and Waitrose products.
Not sure 😩

LesLavandes · 02/03/2019 10:10

I am pleased. Love M&S for ready meals and treats

Nothingunpleasant · 02/03/2019 10:13

Why are people “gutted”? Just buy from Waitrose.com instead.

LittleBearPad · 02/03/2019 10:16

I’m not very happy. The main reason I shop with Ocado is Waitrose products. M&S is more expensive.

Waitrose.com is far less reliable than Ocado too.

I’ll have to try the Ocado branded stuff but I liked Waitrose products partly because they are such shits to the their suppliers as the other supermarkets.

EachandEveryone · 02/03/2019 10:35

I bet they will still be selling Heinz beans, Andrex etc

M and S booze is dearBlush

What does this mean?

viccat · 02/03/2019 11:42

There's another thread about this here already...

I'm excited about it, M&S does some great stuff and they have increased their veggie and vegan lines recently.

Ocado will still have all the big brands and their own brand for basics. I bet they will keep increasing the number of their own brand products as well to replace some of the Waitrose basics that will go.

🤦🏻‍♀️

LittleBearPad · 02/03/2019 11:56

And there’s a random other ‘the’ there too
🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

Discuss???

JaneEyre07 · 02/03/2019 12:10

Because Ocado offer the Smart Pass for deliveries so it's one charge of £6 a month. Waitrose charge up to £6.99 per delivery round here.

Ocado offer longer slots, one hour time slots instead of 2 and you get what you order. You can also tie in a Fetch delivery for pet food. Waitrose direct aren't as reliable as they shop from the supermarket so can't predict stock as Ocado on. My last Waitrose order had around 15 subs on.

So yes I am "gutted" in that I've been using Ocado for around 6/7 years, it's a reliable and decent service and now it's changing.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 02/03/2019 12:12

I fucking hate fucking “discuss” at the end of an OP.

EachandEveryone · 02/03/2019 13:45

I was on my break at work and had to rush back. Would “what do you all think about it?” suit you better?

OP posts:
EachandEveryone · 02/03/2019 13:47

Ive never worked out how to tie Fetch in with Ocado.
