What simple thing could your clients/service users do to make your job easier?

Little things that they don’t realise would make your daily life just that little bit better but are very easy for them to do.

For example - not wearing a massive hair clip or having hair in a bun or wearing a cap when you are going to lie down in the dental chair.

Simple. So what’s yours?

Answering questions without the answer being in the form of a question.

Example: Me: Can I take your name? Customer: My Name? Me: Yes your name....

Repeat ad infinitum for every question. Some of my calls would be half the length if I didn't have to repeat everything twice.

Bringing an up to date list of their current medications with them, instead of looking surprised when I ask what they take and saying things like “the little pink ones, I think they’re for my heart?”

Be willing to trust the specialist advice they are being given, that they sought.

In the eyes of the area of law I deal with, not criminal, no one is special, their circumstance are definitely not unique.

Reconsider speaking if your sentence starts with 'Yeah, but, in my case....'

Turn up. With someone who speaks English if they don’t. Bring a list of their medication. Personal hygiene.

Bearing in mind that you know when I will turn up don't suddenly decide to eat or head for the WC at exactly the arrival time.
I am only booked for 30 minutes and won't wait for you to finally emerge.
Likewise if you head there one minute before end of call time don't moan that I can't stay until you finish.
Leaving your key in the door increases your security, yes. It also means that I can't get in.
And I'm only supposed to do your meal. Your guests are capable of feeding themselves.

Please make sure you turn the TV off or at least down so I can hear you. I appreciate you've been on hold a while, but as soon as I answer please turn it down

Please feed your child. I get that you've been on hold a while - why not put the phone on speaker and give child a banana, not allow child to screech down the phone and then tell me it's my fault that child is hungry

Please don't phone when you're on a busy street with cars going past and crap signal. Please don't then get annoyed when I ask you to go somewhere quieter

Not waiting until after their dog/cat has tried (or succeeded) to bite me to tell me they hate the vets and always bite. Or worse "he wont bite you" as their precious little savage is baring its teeth and foaming at the mouth!

@missmouse - im sorry but i take issue with that. I had this recently with my 83yo mother where somebody from the national statistics offuce took it upon themselves to visit. Yes she received a letter but she didnt realise she had to opt out and she would have struggled to call anyway. Its like cold calling

And the opposite. If you book me in at 10:00, don't start my hair at 10:30. When this happens, don't stop cutting/drying my hair because the person next to me is having an interesting conversation you'd like to contribute to.

know what you are ordering before you order... dont come to the bar then decide that you dont know what you want to eat or drink and then when you finally decide, tell me your order clearly, it wont be my fault if you get the complete wrong thing because you dont know how to do that one little thing. Also have your money ready!!

Use the right code HD is home delivery it's that simple but if you don't use a hd code on your order I cant put your order through even though it's in the catalogue next to the code you have used I cant put it through! And put your phone number on computer says no number no order 🙇‍♀️
