it’s almost as if they want people to support themselves and the choices they make

Just fuck off with this bullshit, I didn’t choose to be disabled just shitty luck and shitty genetics, ‘oh but we didn’t mean you’ yes you did, not one shit is given as to how I’m meant to navigate this system and if I starve to death or end up killing myself because I can’t take anymore just know that your ‘choice’ to support a punitive benefits system just in case someone gets something for free, I wish my disability on you and let’s just see how you feel about your choices then

@JustAnotherPoster00 I ignored that troll and you should too. Of course everybody would rather support themselves and indeed I always have done...not anticipating that a disabled child was around the corner. I didn't CHOOSE to have a disabled child, he was born that way so anybody who comes out with such pithy, moronic, judgemental shit can fuck off. This is the sort of crap that ex-h and OW come out with to avoid paying maintenance..."no concept of work", "lazy" blah blah. Except they don't have my son! I even received an email from my ex-h by mistake where he was telling some unidentified person that he wasn't prepared to pay for my "wine and fags lifestyle"...except I don't smoke and have the odd bottle of wine. People are cunts until they find themselves in such a situation. hear you x

The extra pressure on Adult Social Services when the Pension Credit changes come in will be huge.

56% of those on Pension Credit also receive a disability benefit.............oh and here is another head fuck.........

"For eg, under UC, couples are treated as permanently separated after 6 months. If mixed age couple split after 15 May, older partner can't claim UC due to age but can't claim PC as need to be separated for 12 months to no longer be treated as couple

So those couples on UC who split up will be classed as split up after six months.

Yet if a mixed age couple split after 15 may they arent classed as split until 12 months.

The bit in bold is from someone i follow in Twitter who works in welfare advice.

"Rudd reveals pilot area for Universal Credit managed migration
News

by Nathaniel Barker

Work and pensions secretary Amber Rudd has revealed the first area where existing benefit claimants will be transferred to Universal Credit

Harrogate will be the pilot for the managed migration phase of the government’s flagship welfare reform.

Ms Rudd made the announcement while appearing before the Work and Pensions Select Committee this afternoon

She said: “Obviously there’s been a lot of interest in what progress we’re making with our managed migration pilot and we have decided to go ahead and do that in Harrogate, and that is being set up for early piloting as soon as possible.

“We’ve chosen them because they’ve had Universal Credit for three years, they’re an experienced Jobcentre, and they’re an area [with] both urban and rural claimants.

“And we will be making sure that we have the opportunity to test as many as possible in an effective way so that we can really learn and demonstrate the success of managed migration.”

Conservative-led Harrogate Borough Council still retains a housing stock of around 3,800 homes.

A number of housing associations operate in the Yorkshire spa town, including Anchor, The Guinness Partnership, Places for People and Sanctuary"
