Chandler was fictional why am I responding? her age, financially responsible, apparently a good shag, and wanted the same things from life - kids, pets, house in the suburbs - as her. Marrying a man 25+ years older than her, who had already done the babies and suburbs thing, would have been a disaster.

I’d have definitely picked Chandler. He’s funny, younger and he was really good looking in the earlier days of Friends.

But her love for Richard was a younger woman's infatuation with an almost father figure. Her love for Chandler was based on years of friendship and shared life goals. Maybe not as dizzy and head turning but a far better basis for a lasting future.

All of the men in Friends were annoying. Chandler was the least worst.

But Richard was a friend of her parents and he knew her as a child which is just a whole other level of weird.
