When book week costumes go wrong...

For book week this year my DS asked to be 'Superworm'. He asked ages ago, and I agreed. As he had given me so much notice I had time to plan... figured a repurposed cat tunnel with a hat on could work?

It wasn't until I put the hat on the tunnel that I realised what I had created...

Ahahaha that’s brilliant!

Ultimately, a tale of caution to anyone ever considering a worm costume for their DC. Also funny.

It looked slightly better after I put the eyes on.

Superwhaaat · 28/02/2019 11:54

GrinGrin that's fantastic

Sorry OP but you've made me feel so much better about the ZOG costume that I'm making that currently looks like a deflated and very ill lizard

Shadow93 · 28/02/2019 11:55

Watch him wiggle, see him squirm 🤣🤣🤣

MollyHuaCha · 28/02/2019 11:55

The best costume I have seen for years Well done. StarStarStarStarStar

Gruzinkerbell1 · 28/02/2019 11:55

Eyes make it look much better. I’m a little disappointed that they rescued it quite so much ha!

PennyMordauntsLadyBrain · 28/02/2019 11:57

Please take pictures of your DS in it so in years to come he knows you calmly sent him to school dressed as a five foot knob

Superwhaaat · 28/02/2019 11:59

Yes, I did send my 6 year old to school dressed as a giant penis worm! It looked a bit less phallic once it was moving Grin and we added a (not in keeping with the book) cape.

Superwhaaat · 28/02/2019 12:02

Superworm in school (they do an assembly and parade individually infront of school and parents).

I love it!

But what weird alternate universe is your son's school in that did WBD today rather than the actually day? 😆 One of mine once went to a school that did that (but theirs was a MONTH later). Bloody annoying 🙈

Superwhaaat · 28/02/2019 12:03

(Damn the app and the tricksy attachment of photos)

Drop off is going to the highlight of every adult on the premises' day!

Superwhaaat · 28/02/2019 12:06

@Shadow93 - I will not be able to read the book in the same way again
@GreyRoses - I know, it's bizarre. They actually had it before half term but all the book week posts reminded me that this needed sharing.

dd has just announced she wants to go as Ginny weasley. She's 11, I thought we were past all the dressing up.

I don;t have anything which could be a Hoggwarts robe/cloak, let alone a griffindor tie. And she wants red hair dye.
No.

eosmum · 28/02/2019 12:11

I so wish that they did the dressing up in our school. That is brilliant.
