Anyone got any suggestions for a sore, runny nose? It's getting chafed!

Got a really runny nose and have done for a few days, and now it's really sore Sad I assume hayfever?

Been taking antihistamines and using Vicks which helps the nose running but it's all red and sore now Sad

Anyone have any miracle nose running cures or ideas to stop the chafing?

Vaseline stops mine getting sore when I have a cold.

Antiseptic chap stick used very thickly

If your at home, put rolled up toilet roll up your nose - save you blowing and irritating it more.
And obviously, extremely sexy!

Drookit · 25/02/2019 17:48

Yes, vaseline around sore bits and use some soft fabric to blow your nose on.

A nasal hay fever spray that contains Fluticasone. It switches a runny hay fever nose off like a tap. Smile

NineNine · 25/02/2019 17:51

Yes to the Vaseline, but also Kleenex balsam tissues make a big difference for me.

Pinkginxx · 25/02/2019 17:53

Sudocrem (I know I’ve spelt it wrong but cba to check Grin).

IheartCaptainHolt · 25/02/2019 17:53

Sudocreme always works for me

IheartCaptainHolt · 25/02/2019 17:54

Ha! @Pinkginxx great minds

Coat liberally with savlon before bed. Wake up and its hardly sore at all the apply Vaseline before you wipe or blow it. Acts as a barrier.

crimsonlake · 25/02/2019 17:57

I get this, nothing to do with a cold, I think I have perennial rhinitis and it is a real nuisance, always surrounded by tissues.

Petalflowers · 25/02/2019 17:59

Tissues with balm in them

purplepears · 25/02/2019 18:03

Hydrocortisone cream.
Works wonders.

Trevorthebikethief · 25/02/2019 18:36

Believe it or not, I’ve always found kitchen roll never makes my nose sore. Tissues yes, kitchen roll no.

PeterPiperPickedWrong · 25/02/2019 18:41

Bepanthen cream. Works far better than anything else I’ve ever tried. I have a tube just for sore noses and just slather it on after every blow.

SneakyGremlins · 25/02/2019 19:06

I assume these are all pharmacy available items? Smile

I was coming to say bepanthen too. It's a wonder cream! Soothes and creates a barrier.

Doyoumind · 25/02/2019 19:10

Bepanthen is a nappy rash cream, in case you aren't aware.

Alienspaceship · 25/02/2019 19:10

Sudocreme overnight

Goldrill · 25/02/2019 19:12

Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream. It's the only thing I use it for. Is basically vaseline with a hint of aspirin.

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 25/02/2019 19:12

I like the little green tin of Vaseline aloe Vera to stop my nose from fraying

userwithnumbers · 25/02/2019 19:13

Nipple cream! Amazing for a sore nose.
