Anyone got any suggestions for a sore, runny nose? It's getting chafed!

Got a really runny nose and have done for a few days, and now it's really sore Sad I assume hayfever?

Been taking antihistamines and using Vicks which helps the nose running but it's all red and sore now Sad

Anyone have any miracle nose running cures or ideas to stop the chafing?

I HATE the concept of hankies, I generally only use tissues, but when I had a really sore nose I cut up some very old, very soft, T-shirt’s and use those when I’m in a bad way. It’s kind of grim, but not really any worse than putting kids clothes in the wash!

My nose is running like a tap back on piriton. Aloe vera gel at bedtime is wonderful we keep a plant here, but you can buy tubes of it.

Dr Lipp nipple balm - soothes the soreness without leading to blocked pores: Vaseline leaves me with whiteheads on top of the chafed bits Sad

Lanolin works well. Lansinoh is one brand that's readily available and doesn't smell sheepy. Also great for badly chapped lips and fingers.

When it's really bad, smear the contents of a vitamin E capsule in and around your nose just before bed. It's a great healer.

I wouldn't use hydrocortisone cream on my face without medical advice.

Aquaphor helps me. I put a layer all over any bits that might be sore and run a little just around the inside of each nostril too, it seems to help reduce the amount of itchy horrible stuff getting up my nose.

It's started stupidly early this year too!

Blistex Relief Cream works well to moisturise sore skin and also acts as a barrier
