I've had two lots of sick leave. Ten weeks with a broken leg and currently five months with mental health problems.

A year of maternity leave.

Youmadorwhat · 23/02/2019 21:15

5 and a half years 😂

Groovee · 23/02/2019 21:18

17 weeks post surgery.

User10000 · 23/02/2019 21:18

I've also had two lots of maternity leave lasting 9 months each.

OP posts:
MummySharkBabyShark · 23/02/2019 21:18

8 months sick leave for hyperemesis and then 15 months maternity leave.

damekindness · 23/02/2019 21:19

3 months for maternity leave (back in the days where you only got 3 months paid mat leave) couldn't afford to be off any longer.

DramaAlpaca · 23/02/2019 21:20

A year of maternity leave, then later I had 9 years as a SAHM at which point I was desperate to get back to work.

CakeNinja · 23/02/2019 21:24

10 years while I had my children and then brought them up.
But I was signed off from my actual job for 3 months last year with 2 slipped discs.

JudgeRindersMinder · 23/02/2019 21:27

18 months maternity leave 20+ years ago. I had an enlightened employer!

Greenteandchives · 23/02/2019 21:29

12weeks, following surgery to shore up my failing pelvic floor.
The only sick leave I ever had. I am now retired.

Lwmommy · 23/02/2019 21:31

OP, Over how many years service have you taken 18 month mat leave, 10 weeks for.a broken leg and 5 months currently?

I have 12 years service, in that time i had 3 weeks for major eye surgery, 2 weeks after breaking my hand which needs surgical fixation, 9 months mat leave and 6 weeks when my dad passed away.

PatchworkElmer · 23/02/2019 21:32

7 weeks with HG, 10 months maternity leave.

TeenagersandFurbabies · 23/02/2019 21:38

7 weeks recovering from an elbow dislocation & the ligament damage it caused.

CrazyKittenSmile · 23/02/2019 21:42

In my current job I’ve had two three day absences, both during a mental health crisis. On each occasion my boss encouraged me to take the time off as she could see I was struggling.

Crunchymum · 23/02/2019 21:44

14 months ML with DC1 13 months ML with DC2 and 14 months ML with DC3.

Have been with my company 17 years though and will hopefully have another 25 years to go before retirement Shock

defineme · 23/02/2019 21:44

7 years with my 3 kids
12 weeks post total hysterectomy

happytobemrsg · 23/02/2019 21:44

Other than 13m Mat leave, I had 8 months off when I quit my job & they ended up asking me back Grin

OhTheRoses · 23/02/2019 21:46

9 days. Fractured L1. I am, however, as tough as nails and it was mind iver matter. 1 day for a broken metatarsal.

ToEarlyForDecorations · 23/02/2019 21:48

A year and a half but I was living in small town New Zealand. I ended up doing voluntary work just to have an up to date reference on my CV. (I was more than happy to do the voluntary work btw)

So far, since living in the East Midlands, I've had no work since last November. So, that'll be 3 months. Actually, that's not strictly true, I had a temp work booking that only lasted a day as got chucked out because I wasn't picking the work up quick enough. Bastards.

hopeishere · 23/02/2019 21:49

Five / six weeks when my mum died.

About the same after a car accident where I had significant injuries.

Ninkaninus · 23/02/2019 22:01

I didn’t work when my children were small.

Three days off sick in eight years at one job.

Five days off sick in three years at current job.

Momzilla82 · 23/02/2019 22:08

A year's career break to deal with chronic health diagnosis and get appropriate medical support in place.

ChoudeBruxelles · 23/02/2019 22:09

Apart from mat leave I had nearly 6 weeks off when my mum was dying and then after she passed away.

creativeusername · 23/02/2019 22:21

2 lots of maternity leave (18 months total) 3 days my illness and 3 days looking after ill toddler, in 6 years.

Brigante9 · 23/02/2019 23:01

3 months post half my calf being sheared off, horsey accident. I went back to work with fluid still leaking out of the hole. Super fun.
