Woman stripping off and changing in public area of swimming pool

So I took the kids swimming today. It was packed. There was a woman there in an extremely small bikini for her size of breast and she spent the time swapping between holding them in and letting them out. It caused quite a stir in the pool with the boys circling her. When we came out, the changing rooms were packed. I waited in the corridor that leads to the changing rooms for my kids ( they are teens) and she stripped naked in front of everyone , dried herself and got dressed. I ended up going to speak to the staff who came out and spoke to her but she was cross with them. She did not care that young children, teenage boys and adult men were all walking through . WWY have done?

Nothing . Would be totally acceptable in Germany

LeekMunchingSheepShagger · 22/02/2019 22:10

Was she naked in the changing room or in the corridor? I'm confused

RiverTam · 22/02/2019 22:13

The fact that it’s acceptable in Germany is hardly relevant unless the OP was in Germany.

She sounds like an exhibitionist but I guess she wasn’t doing any harm to anyone except possibly herself.

NicoAndTheNiners · 22/02/2019 22:13

What would I have done?

Pretended not to notice. I'm assuming she's either a total exhibitionist, has no inhibitions or has some sort of mental health issues. Either way I guess it would be no skin off my nose. If a man was offended and wanted to complain then fine. And yes, I probably would tell a member of staff if a man did the same.

jellymaker · 22/02/2019 22:16

She was naked in the corridor. For context, it was in London with some women in the pool completely covered so I'm guessing sensitivity about modesty

I would have just taken myself and my children away from where she was, and then had a quiet word with the people on the desk on my way out. I wouldn't exactly complain. Speaking as someone who lives in the UK and not Germany, I would assume she had some fairly significant mental health issues; of the self-esteem kind.

She may well be from another country with different customs (fair enough) - in which case I would assume she's not good at picking up social mores.

WeeDangerousSpike · 22/02/2019 22:18

Do you mean she was topless in the pool? As in in the water? Then got stripped off in the communual/unisex corridor? How did she get her clothes to get dressed there?

I'm so confused.

If as above then YADNBU. The very existence of sex segregated changing rooms would make it obvious that changing in a unisex area is not acceptable.

sagradafamiliar · 22/02/2019 22:19

I would've done what you did. She's clearly an exhibitionist and all the people around her used as props to enable her to get her kicks. Wrong. You need consent for shit like that.

Muddysnowdrop · 22/02/2019 22:19

A bit more clarity on whether rooms were single sex, had cubicles etc would help

SandAndSea · 22/02/2019 22:19

I wouldn't have done anything. People have bodies and kids have to learn how to behave in all sorts of situations. I might have been tempted to complain about the circling men though.

jellymaker · 22/02/2019 22:22

She was topless when they popped out. There is female and male changing rooms with a corridor in between. She came out of the female changing room to change in that corridor

WeeDangerousSpike · 22/02/2019 22:22

Communal, even. Hmm

snitzelvoncrumb · 22/02/2019 22:23

I wouldn't worry it's just a body, we all have them.

sagradafamiliar · 22/02/2019 22:26

I don't think people would be so flippant if it were a man swinging his cock around young girls/boys/other people

She sounds weird

zod1ac19 · 22/02/2019 22:28

Was she British? We have German friends who stripped naked at the poolside showers and were most surprised when the lifeguard came and had a word! However, once they realised it wasn’t the done thing they adapted.

OP i’d probably have done the same as you.

BertrandRussell · 22/02/2019 22:30

In a woman’s changing room-absolutely fine.

In a public area- not fine.

ChakiraChakra · 22/02/2019 22:30

Weird isn't it. Naked woman has mixed and fairly lukewarm response, naked man would be called pervert, sex pest or whatever.

BertrandRussell · 22/02/2019 22:31

“Weird isn't it. Naked woman has mixed and fairly lukewarm response, naked man would be called pervert, sex pest or whatever.”

Why is that wierd?

blackcoffeeinbed · 22/02/2019 22:33

This is definitely inappropriate. If all the changing rooms were busy she should of waited or gone in a toilet cubicle or something. She must be pretty confident to do this in the first place! I've had friends tell me that women walk around naked in gym changing rooms when they go and work out but that's women amongst women no children or men are present, perhaps she sometimes works out and it's 'normal' for her to do this🤷‍♀️

GerryblewuptheER · 22/02/2019 22:38

Definitely not appropriate.

Use a changing room. Its not hard.

Drum2018 · 22/02/2019 22:38

Surely she could have just stayed in the female dressing room and stripped there. Why come out into the corridor where there were teenage boys and men, if not to make an exhibition of herself? You did right telling the staff.

WorraLiberty · 22/02/2019 22:40

Nothing . Would be totally acceptable in Germany

What does that have to do with the UK, where I assume the OP lives? Confused

Dippypippy1980 · 22/02/2019 22:44

Surely if she really was going topless in the swimming pool she would have been asked to leave?

THis post op is odd.
