Has anyone ever found anything odd or old in their attic?

Leasing on from the Secret Room thread, has anyone ever found anything strange inntheir attic? Old Wedding dress etc.
In my childhood home I remember finding a Victorian baby walker type thing.

My Grannie had a huge attic, we were never allowed in but uncle said when he cleared it it took him several days as so much stuff and furniture , huge Victorian mirrors , clothes etc . House was a quartered mansion built in 1800s so very very old . Lovely house at the time .

With my mum’s family they just stored their stuff under the sofas in lieu of any sort of springs - every sofa in my great granny’s was piled high with 70 years worth of paperwork .

Whatever happened with the Victorian safe thread?

I found a stuffed owl, and a stuffed seagull. I sold the owl to a stuffed animal shop on the Camden Rd, but the seagull wasn't in such good shape, and I had to put him into the skip, which I felt guilty about.

In our first house there was a huge old wooden chest in the loft which we got all excited about - I thought it was going to be filled with treasure. It was actually full of old tools probably from the start of the 20th century. We binned the lot. Should have kept them as apparently some can be fairly valuable.

Someone who previously lived in our house must have been an ad hoarder poster put upper or similar as we found a load of old cigarette and match ads among the old insulation when we did the roof.

No but we cleared out the garage in our 15 year old new build for an extension and found a four foot long reproduction sword that the only previous owners claim to know nothing about!

As my mum subsequently told me, when I was about 7 we moved into a house with a big old lean to, full to the brim with boxes of Victorian glass plate and print soft porn. My weirdo father , who wouldn’t let my mother watch Mash because it was “pornographic” (wtf!), had a big bonfire and burnt the whole bloody lot. Even there there must have been thousands and thousands of pounds worth.

Going through relatives stuff in a house in USA after their death I found an old colt 45 in a beautiful leather holster. Had belonged to someone several generations back I found as there was a letter with it. Totally freaked me out to be so close to a gun. (although as criminal barrister I have often handled guns as exhibits in court - just really troubling in domestic setting).

We found an opening into next door's attic, behind a flimsy piece of wood. Sadly next door's attic was completely empty! We had the opening bricked up.

Attic no but cellar certainly. I found an Anderson shelter that had been built down there during the war and several litres of superb sloe gin that had been maturing for donkeys years.

What an amazing thread! I would freak right out if I found a doll's house in an attic, I find them ridiculously creepy. I've never found anything remotely exciting, alas!

A hold-all absolutely stuffed with 90’s porno mags and VHS tapes.

A very old trunk and some old music sheets and a poster from about 1933 advertising the music. And an old water tank, a metal one that had to be cut up to get it through the hatch. Plus a squirrels nest which was no longer in use as the exit/entry hole had been blocked.

I found DH up there once, he counts as both.

I found a voice recorder with a recording of a bunch of drunk sounding guys singing “hey Jude”, and an old Nintendo gameboy.
I kept the gameboy but got rid of the singing!
