Curious what type of haircuts everyone’s DS has?

How often do they have it cut?

Mines every month-ish

Short back and sides every school holiday. (Ds is 6)

missyB1 · 19/02/2019 10:17

Ds is 10 and has very thick hair. We keep it short, a bit longer on top and fringe brushed to one side.

ASauvignonADay · 19/02/2019 10:19

Anyone's DS got the 'meet me at mcdonalds' haircut? 😂

Ds (10) has a number 3 all over.

How often not very he ends up looking like Paul Weller from the Jam.

EdithWeston · 19/02/2019 10:45

Both have it really short at back and sides, but long floppy fringes.

They get it cut when they remember - both are teens

It's not really a MeetMeAtMacDonalds as their hair isn't the right texture and they don't style it, but it's not a totally dissimilar shape - it's not a million miles froman Eton Crop either

Short back and sides with longer on top for gelling Hmm DS has beautiful big curls and that’s the most I can get him to grow it! He’s 9.

BlackInk · 19/02/2019 10:47

Shoulder-length and scruffy for my 9yo :)

BlackInk · 19/02/2019 10:48

...Quick trim once or twice a year!

Aprilshowersarecomingsoon · 19/02/2019 10:49

Teens number 1 on the bottom and back a 3 on top. Every fortnight.
Ds 10 short back and sides half termly.
Ds 4 when ever I am sure he is nit free.

JellyBook · 19/02/2019 10:53

14 year old - short back and sides, slightly unruly on top but manageable.

11 year old - ‘messy’ layered, not too long - growing out pageboy- he is self conscious about his ears. He has gorgeous, thick, fast growing hair (well jel) so cut about every 5 weeks. Hairdresser in the family so does 3 men’s haircuts for £20

Newsername · 19/02/2019 10:57

Short back and sides every 3 months or so, or until his hair comes over his eyes Blush.

Notso · 19/02/2019 10:57

I'm not very good at hair, boys or girls!
I never know what to ask for, and find the whole process intimidating.
DD cuts her own.
DS1 likes his longish, scruffily long IMO. He has it graded at the sides but barely anything off the top.
DS2 asks for a grade 6 back and sides and longer on the top.
DS3 has crazy hair, it grows up and out not long. He gets a bouffant! I just ask for it cut shorter with scissors not the shaver.
Ideally they should go every 6 weeks but usually it's more like 8-10.

Catsandbootsandbootsandcats · 19/02/2019 11:12

I don't know! It's short at the moment. Shorter at the back and sides. Youngest has his so he can spike it, the others have it longer on top.

They get their haircut not often enough. Especially my 14 yo's whose hair grows outwards and goes kind of curly in odd places! I've seen it described as a ket wig. I googled images and it was just like their scruffy hair. Grin

None of us are particularly into fashionable hair or stuff so I just leave it till I get fed up with it. Blush They had it done last week, time before was September.

IncyWincyGrownUp · 19/02/2019 11:16

Smallest has it as tidy as a double crown allows. The bigger one has a collar length bob at the moment. Has been much longer. Never shorter.

Whitelisbon · 19/02/2019 11:21

Ds12 has a number 3 all over, monthly ish.
Ds5 has a long, scruffy, surfer-style mop. Its past his shoulders now, and generally looks like he's had his fingers in a socket, whilst being dragged backwards through multiple hedges. He gets a trim every few months.

spiderlight · 19/02/2019 11:39

DS has a longish top and fringe, no. 4 back and sides. He comes out of the barber's with a lovely side parting and either a floppy side fringe or a gelled-back quiff depending on whether or not I remember to ask her not to put too much gunk on it, but invariably is back to his normal hedge-backwards style by the time we've walked home. Usually gets it cut every six weeks or so.

BearSoFair · 19/02/2019 11:40

16yo DS1, shaved sides, longer down the middle...kind of a wide mohawk but not standing up? I'm sure it has a proper name Grin but it's quite [[https://i.pinimg.com/originals/70/11/de/7011de828f35e935f114ebd369b02f29.jpg LIKE THIS]]

9yo DS2, short back and sides, long enough to spike on top.

BearSoFair · 19/02/2019 11:41

Well I messed that link up! Blush Still works though I think
