Really interesting little quiz.
Doesn’t ask for any details so no data harvesting.

It got me down to about 15 miles from where I grew up.

Spot on.

icelollycraving · 15/02/2019 17:38

90 miles out but I suspect similar accents.

AvaTheGardener · 15/02/2019 17:56

some of it needs fine tuning. Eg, 'nesh' is an option for 'words you would use to say it's cold' but nesh actually describes someone soft who feels the cold too easily.

Clawdy · 15/02/2019 18:04

Exactly what I thought about nesh, Ava

RebeccaCloud9 · 15/02/2019 19:17

😥no map for me

dustarr73 · 15/02/2019 19:23

It got 3 places for me.0ne was spot on,one not too far and the other one miles away.

Very interesting though

Clawdy · 15/02/2019 20:06

They need to sort the map thing out. Very disappointing when you go through all the questions and then no map!Sad

CherryPavlova · 15/02/2019 20:14

My map showed me as living all over the place but quite London and Home Counties centric . Probably a fair reflection of many moves in adulthood and rejection of my childhood speech patterns.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 15/02/2019 20:21

Mine is all over the place!

OneBiscuitAtATime · 15/02/2019 20:37

Quite close for me. Was interesting to scroll down to see how widely used certain words are, and which words are very local.

meow1989 · 15/02/2019 20:38

How do door and poor not sound the same? Genuine question.

It got me roughly right

meow1989 · 15/02/2019 20:40

And horse and hoarse, no are they pronounced differently?

Daisychainsandglitter · 15/02/2019 20:47

I'm really impressed. It got me even though I've been living in the West Mids for the last 15 years.

reallyfedupofbrexit · 15/02/2019 20:48

It got me and DH exactly- Ben though we've not lived there for 25 years.

CormoranStrike · 15/02/2019 20:51

Mine got me within eight miles of where I grew up!

WrongKindOfFace · 15/02/2019 20:55

It didn’t quite get where I was raised (but I lived in several places) but one of the places suggested is where I live now.

Lonecatwithkitten · 15/02/2019 21:00

It really struggled with me I got the whole of Cambridgeshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire. I grew up in Suffolk, but my Mum is from West Lothian, my Dad is from Suffolk, but his Mum lived in a number of countries as a child.

KeptTheBeachesShipwreckFree · 15/02/2019 21:01

It had me between Sheffield and Wolverhampton! I do live in West/South Yorkshire so it's not wrong but neither is it wildly accurate.

pamplemoussed · 15/02/2019 21:01

Spot in! Got me to 20 miles of where I grew up even though I have not lived there for almost 30 years!

OracleBI · 15/02/2019 21:02

@meow1989 Us Scots say "door" and "poor" and then "horse" and "hoarse" differently. Try saying them with your best Scottish accent! Smile

chemenger · 15/02/2019 21:03

Spot on with where I was brought up and where I usually live, both thousands of miles away from where I am at the moment.

Laquila · 15/02/2019 21:06

Pretty accurate for me. Fascinating! Though for the life of me I can’t work out how finger and singer could not rhyme - anyone?!

NanooCov · 15/02/2019 21:06

I've lived in the south east of England for the last 15 years but it got my city in Scotland spot on.

Shenanagins · 15/02/2019 21:07

Very interesting. I grew up in one place but have spent my adult life in a completely different place which is actually where my parents are from and it got both locations which is remarkable given that the former is very isolated/rural.

needmorepizzainmydiet · 15/02/2019 21:09

Wow that’s amazing!! Got me pretty much bang on.
