I have breakfast at 8am
Lunch at 1pm
Dinner at 7pm

At 9pm I often have yogurt, fruit and some chocolate...

Is this pudding or supper?

Pudding is what you have straight after your meal. Like dessert. It's either supper or a snack. Perfect supper for me would be a chocolate hobnob and some warm milk. And no. I'm not 5.

It completely removes it. This is a fact.

I say it's supper.

Dp claims the chocolate makes it a pudding.

It's a snack! Supper is something savoury, if it was a pudding you'd have it right after dinner. Vis a vis, snack IMO!

Today was a kiwi, yogurt and some chilli dark chocolate (it worked). Two whole hours after dinner. It's not part of the dinner meal at all.

When I eat this he is usually scoffing nuts. That's definitely not pudding.

I sometimes choose to have pudding after DD is in bed. That way it's definitely pudding as it's what I would have normal eaten as dessert at dinner time.

A bowl of cereal or a toasted teacake just before bed is supper to me. It's not pudding type food.

I see chocolate as a snack. It's neither pudding nor supper.

My posh friends call their main evening meal supper.

Supper is something like crackers and cheese, or a fried egg sandwich, or a bacon sandwich.

9 o'clockers. It should be a roll with grated cheese, a mixture of cheddar and Red Leicester.

Supper. I’m 49 and food you eat before bedtime has always been supper and I don’t understand how that can be pretentious. Breakfast, dinner, tea, supper.

You've probably realised by now that there isn't a majority and it depends where you are in the country.

You call it supper, but some people use that word to describe their evening meal. If cheese can be pudding, then so can nuts.

I'd call it supper. To me supper is what you have, or give children, some time between tea (or dinner depending on whether your children eat with you) and bedtime.

Its pretty much the evening equivalent of elevenses.

We call it our ‘treatytreat’ in our house.
