Any nice quotes that I can put in dh's valentines card?

I need to make a card & usually out a poem or quote inside, relating to love without being too gushy.

Haven't much time today would like something - maybe along the lines of simple joys. Feel like our life is being boring but content at the moment! Any recommendations appreciated!

MegaBat I think that was for me? You're absolutely right, but it made me giggle and my DH will giggle too. Combined age of 91 but still like two teenagers!

I'd think twice about some of these for instance, the Wuthering Heights one is about a relationship where both people torment the other in life while they both make spectacularly wrong marriages, and then one of them dies in childbirth and has her body dug up by her grieving lover -- and then she haunts him until he starves to death so that he can't dispossess her orphaned daughter. Grin

@SadieContrary yes I can see now it was to you! Aww it made me giggle a bit too. I'm so boring with a 'love you loads' to my husband. Grin

To be fair I don't think dh appreciates any of my poems & quotes in the slightest bit it gives me something to keep up with. I always make my own cards for valentines & anniversary as I can't stand the ones in shops.

Also, he wouldn't have any idea where the quotes came from as he is not a reader

Please keep them coming, this thread will save me from having to google for many years abw!

On mine this year I wrote: I'm not fed up of you yet.

(We've been together 20 years next month.)

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 13/02/2019 17:38

I couldn't possibly write something soppy, my dh would think I'd gone mad.
My card to him says something like..Every time I look at you i think to myself you are one lucky son of a bitch.😁

buckeejit · 13/02/2019 18:17

@NotExactlyHappyToHelp if you can hoke out all your quotes for me to use, that'd be swell. I'm liking your style!

Haha - I've also written amusing things do like these last ones. I once stole from somewhere else

'I really want you to know how much I've enjoyed annoying you over the last 10 years & am very much looking forward to annoying you for many more to come'

How about "You pierce my soul". You can't go wrong with a bit of Brontë.

A suggestion..😀

I like:- 'if I had my time again I'd find you sooner' - although now I've written that it sounds grammatically wrong !?!

buckeejit · 13/02/2019 20:14

These are great!

she asked
'you are in love
what does love look like'
to which i replied
'like everything i've ever lost
come back to me'

By the amazing Nayyirah Waheed

It kills me everytime, particularly potent if (like me) you had a relationship hiatus with DP

MabelStark · 13/02/2019 23:18

Wish I'd seen these earlier as I always post my card to DP and hilariously deny all knowledge and say it must be from Jackie in the canteen. 😁
