Ah ok
I would have been interested to know what she thought of it all and if she ever did divorce him

Jan was completely failed by her parents. Her mother continued to sleep with B after he abducted her. She should have been taken into care.

Seahorseshoe · 11/02/2019 05:39

It was a jaw dropping watch. What the heck!!

ItsClemFandangoCanYouHearMe · 11/02/2019 06:20

I cannot get my head around how everyone got involved with this man!

I think the mum would have gone back to B in a heart beat if it wasn't for the fear of looking bad in the media. She knew full well what was happening to her daughter! She goes to confront him then has sex with him? That wasn't an accident.. she hardly fell on it.

As for the dad... I mean I've got some great friends but come on. Relieving your friend is hardly normal behaviour and poor Jan only seemed to have the FBI on her side.

I think the parent should have been charged with neglect in the very least. As if you would make a documentary about it now and drag it all up after all these years!

Tink1990 · 11/02/2019 06:40

The way the mom looked whilst speaking about her affair with B ShockShock WTAF!!

I'm only 20 minutes in but OMG WTH?!

Soubriquet · 11/02/2019 20:29

I’ve just watched this...and I honestly cannot get over how thick those parents were

I felt so sorry for Jan. she was completely and utterly brainwashed wasn’t she. She had the “life of a planet” weighed on her little shoulders

Contraceptionismyfriend · 11/02/2019 20:37

I really hope none of the girls were ever stupid enough to leave their kids in their parents care.

SouthernComforts · 11/02/2019 21:36

So bloody weird . The way the mum's face lit up when she spoke about B. In fact all of it from start to finish was bizzare.

He served 10 days??

Cheeeeislifenow · 17/02/2019 00:00

Just watched this, I absolutely think the parents were part of it. Who allows a grown man to sleep with a child four nights per week?
They didn't seem to mind too much about the wedding in Mexico either.
I don't buy their naivety at all.
That poor woman should have been protected from the horror surrounding her.

bellinibobble · 17/02/2019 17:13

I just finished this too and feel like I need therapy.

To see how Jan is holding it together at the end, faced with him in court is extraordinary. That and managing to forgive her parents. I’m speechless.

Bedsidedrawer · 17/02/2019 18:28

It's basically what Rasputin did to the Tsar family in Russia. Charismatic, psychopath. Claimed he could heal their haemophiliac son. Groomed the mother, abused the children.

BusterGonad · 14/03/2019 10:38

I've just watched this. Crazy. Utterly crazy. Some people shouldn't ha e kids, obviously B is to blame but some parents need to to be more aware of the people around them. I can't believe the dad gave him a hand job in the car. WTF! Unreal. So B basically had sexual relations with half the family!!!!

driftingcloud · 22/03/2019 21:12

Another bloody weird church group LDS seemingly hiding pedophiles.

MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue · 25/03/2019 19:57

I watched this today and it made me so uncomfortable. I couldn't believe half of it but also the mum made me feel really uneasy. I couldn't work out if she was embarrassed about her relationship with B or still lusting after him. The way her eyes and face lit up when recalling it! I also felt like the dad got most upset when talking about infidelity and his marriage problems, not his poor daughter. I suppose that is some kind of denial and inability to really face up to what she must have been subjected to. The 'relief in the car' made my jaw hit the floor. The aliens. The parents being so accommodating of B, almost compliant in the abuse... All in all one of the most crazy and disturbing things I've watched in a while! (And that is after the MJ and Madeleine docs!)

BusterGonad · 26/03/2019 01:04

And all they really cared about was their reputation in the village/town.
