What are your favourite and least favourite months of the year ?

My favourite is April. Spring is properly established (Beasts from the East notwithstanding), the days are noticeably longer and brighter, daffodils and tree blossom abound, it's often when Easter falls and there's the promise of May and June to come.

Conversely, November is just miserable. Increasingly darker days, chilly, bare trees, the smell of decay from rotting leaves and flowers, mud. Yuck. Nothing good about November at all.

Obviously, folk in the southern hemisphere may disagree !

May and September favourites (again!)
The weather is usually good, the beach is empty of tourists, the garden is growing and the evenings are long.

I don't like January, February, March. I love May, June, July.

I love spring. It’s when we have woodland walks and picnics in the countryside as well. Spring is for days out of town and trips to the tennis courts- outdoor ones next to my apartment building. Also spring break. And spring is for gardening. In the spring we typically feed the ducks and sit in the sun.
I can’t wait.

I detest October and November, as they are increasingly dark and vile and the only thing there is to look forward [yeah, right] to is Christmas, which I detest more than I can say. After Christmas, it's all more positive., as it gets lighter, bit by bit. But my favourite months overall are April, May and June.

Love spring-my birthday in March snd the brighter evenings, my garden starts to spring back to life.
Love summer for the outdoor living and ease of dressing as long as it stays below 25c-dislike any hotter.
Autumn is beautiful and I enjoy cooking different things and stodgy hearty food after a summer of salads and alfresco eating.
Winter is my least favourite purely because it goes on too long. The Jan to March bit is worst because Christmas is a distraction.

I like April through to October.
I dont like Jan and Feb.
The rest are in-between.

TheLastNigel · 11/02/2019 17:28

I like October best, then April. February sucks.

IndigoSpritz · 14/02/2019 20:41

Today has been a bit April-ish. Blue sky, temperatures in double figures and a frog in the pond at the country park. No daffodils, mind, but lots of snowdrops and a few crocuses. And a pair of wood pigeons renewing their vows.

I like February as we have 3 birthdays mid Feb and things are always better afterwards. It's a marker for the end if the worst bit of winter.

shaggedthruahedgebackwards · 14/02/2019 21:12

My favourite is probably May - winter is properly finished and light evening, better weather and a couple of bank holidays

December is probably my least favourite due to the dark mornings/evenings and the stress associated with Xmas, I'm always relived when it is over for another year

Terramirabilis · 14/02/2019 21:14

Favourite - October for the warm, dry weather after the intense heat of the summer (not UK)

Least favorite - January-March for the darkness, cold, rain and general miserableness.
