Because I have trouble picking just one! If I have to, I'd say mine is Whisper by Evanescence. Yes it's depressing but I think of it as my happy song. Smile

Impossible to choose one so here's a few:

Levellers - Men-an-tool
Foo Fighters - Everlong
Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart
New Model Army - Green and Grey / The Hunt
Queen - Live Forever
The Smiths - Hand in Glove
The Cure - In Between Days
Rammstein - Ich Will

And a guilty pleasure - Billy Idol - White Wedding Grin

Beyond the sea - Robbie Williams version

MrsCatE · 09/02/2019 00:29

"Can't live (if living's without you)" by Harry Nilsson - HIS version only, I lurvve you Mariah, your unfeasible scale range and your Fantasy but bog off this.

Lurve Prince's version of own song: "Nothing compares to you" but I know most people remember Sinead O'Connor.

RainbowMum11 · 09/02/2019 00:32

Impossible - I have many favourite songs for different periods of my life & the mood I'm in.
A very short and immediate list are:
Norwegian Wood, Beatles
Blackbird, Beatles,
Here comes the Sun, Beatles
Girl from Mars, Ash
Don't stop me now, Queen
Common people, Pulp

MusicalManiac · 09/02/2019 00:33

Another couple of Queen songs - Radio GaGa and You Don’t Fool Me.

Pulp - Common People

Runrig - Canada, and Siol Goraidh

The Communards - Don’t Leave Me This Way

Imagine Dragons - Shots

Wet Wet Wet - Wishing I was Lucky

QueenCelestia · 09/02/2019 00:34

I'm going with Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon and Garfunkel. I grew up listening to my Mum's copy on LP and the crackliness just seemed to add to it.

twoundertwox · 09/02/2019 02:37

I forgot Shock
December 63 Frankie Valli and the four seasons

BikeRunSki · 09/02/2019 02:40

Hers Comes the Sun

It reminds of 2 people who I love very much.

FlumpyMummy · 09/02/2019 03:04

Everybody wants to rule the world, tears for fears

herecomesthsun · 09/02/2019 05:38

Now you mention it, I do quite like Here Comes the Sun.
But I was going to say What a Wonderful World (lots of family memories and our first dance song)
Also Sugar Sugar (family memories)
and I love Don't Leave Me This Way (for disco purposes, past, present and future)
and Common People (just so right and so angry)
and La Mer/ Beyond the Sea (reminds me of getting together with DH)
and Brown Eyed Girl (for the wonderful guitar riff and I have brown eyes, DH got his mates to play it at our wedding)

La Vie En Rose - Louis Armstrong

grannycake · 09/02/2019 06:07

Can I add Judy Teen by Cockney Rebel and Summer Breeze by Isley Brother - they both remind me of a camping trip when I was 16

CoperCabana · 09/02/2019 06:13

Thanks all! Playlist now has over 250 songs and 20 followers. Smile

coastergirl · 09/02/2019 06:24

I want to be with you everywhere by Fleetwood Mac
Love Shack by the B52s - can't help but sing along
Magic by Coldplay - but the instrumental version

MadameJosephine · 09/02/2019 08:00

Loads of fantastic songs on here, I’ve been listening so some of them for the first time in years!

One of my all time favourites which takes me back to a particular time in my life is ‘What’s up?’ By four non blondes
