I've just found a colourful brochure advertising share investments among the drab printouts of a GDPR request I made to the DWP.Shock

Many years ago, the letter inviting me to interview for a STEM subject at university had a poem by Betjeman Pritt-sticked to the back. Reader, I studied there.

SIL once wrapped up the scissors with the kids presents. Guess she was stressed with Christmas prep 😁

FusionChefGeoff · 06/02/2019 14:04

Someone else's Facebook photo book!

GummyGoddess · 06/02/2019 14:08

Sachets of sugar in a purse I bought on eBay. I can only assume that they were mistaken for silicone?

lemonface · 06/02/2019 14:09

I used to work in a warehouse where they packed those zip up slippers and other old people type items. I often popped one of my quality streets or other little treat in the parcel wondering whether they might like it. I was about 15 Confused

Loose medication in a handbag, looked like valium or similar, along with some scrunched up tissues and sweet wrappers.

A note in the pocket of a jacket. Nothing to do with the jacket at all.

PIFilm · 06/02/2019 14:14

A picture of a vicar in a printer I bought from Comet!

BobLemon · 06/02/2019 14:16

A knife fashioned from a Stanley blade, a bit of cardboard and lots of gaffer tape. In a box from Hobbycraft.

Twisique · 06/02/2019 14:17

I ordered a note book and got a bag of julia donaldson books as well!

Friend of mine got a knife in an Amazon package!

FetchezLaVache · 06/02/2019 14:18

A spliff, discovered inside the inner workings of CD decks purchased on eBay...

WildFlower2019 · 06/02/2019 14:32

DH travelled to Russia with a new rucksack from amazon to use as hand luggage. He just lobbed a few bits in and off he went.

Went through airport security ok, on the airplane no problem, through the other side fine too. He gets to his hotel and empties his bag.... to then find a massive pair of aggressive looking snips at the bottom. Kind of big cutter things with sharp blades. I guess they use them for box packing in the warehouse?

You know the snips you use to cut threads for embroidery? Like those but bigger.

A bit like the image I've attached.

They could have been used as a weapon really. Terrible that they didn't get picked up by security in his bag Shock

Though that could have been a bit dodgy if they had.

It was a big research trip so if they'd have held him and questioned him and decided he couldn't fly, I'm sure the university wouldn't have been happy!

Sure they weren’t dessicant crystals?

isthismylifenow · 06/02/2019 14:38

Ex gave ds a pile of old papers to go through for an exam, that he was given by his co worker affair partner

As i was flicking through them, there was her application for a transfer for her to go and work in his department, written out all nicely in exs handwriting.

I kept it and didnt say a word Grin

Bet they were frantically looking for that.

Twirlysnooze · 06/02/2019 14:41

WildFlower2019 did he leave them in the hotel?

daipaned · 06/02/2019 14:48

Loads of things from eBay,
a coat with £10, a pen and a condom in the pocket.
A foot muff full of odd baby socks, crumbs, a half eaten chicken nugget and a few chips,
A nappy bag with a pocket crammed full of receipts.

I ordered a game from Tesco for DS, a massive package was handed over which I opened to check as it was much bigger, it contained my order as well as two huge Lego sets and a slow cooker. I told the woman it was a mistake and she checked but the details said that was what I'd ordered. The address was mine and I'd only been charged for the game. She said if I were you I'd stop complaining and take the lot!

My friend once sent a group message after distributing Christmas gifts asking if we could keep an eye out for her watch as it was missing!

GummyGoddess · 06/02/2019 14:57

@reallyanotherone Yes, they said granulated sugar on the side! I didn't eat them though, just to be on the safe side.

PickAChew · 06/02/2019 14:59

Two double duvet sets.

Twice.

The faff getting those returned, when I hadn't even ordered them (nor been charged for them)

DownWentTheFlag · 06/02/2019 15:02

Some silver bracelets in a hidden storage compartment in a car door. I kept one of them!

VanillaBlossom · 06/02/2019 15:05

Lemonface that's brilliant Grin Grin

LadyR77 · 06/02/2019 15:09

I ordered some silicon cake tins via Amazon, but the package arrived from China with a label on the outside describing the contents as "bomb" - inside were hundreds of Nerf gun bullets!

bluebellation · 06/02/2019 15:11

That's lovely lemonface I'm sure you brought smiles to some faces!

We sometimes order wine by the case and it once came accompanied by a rather buttery knife! I think the packer must have been having their lunch while filling our order.

SubparOwl · 06/02/2019 15:12

Nothing, and now I'm sad. Blush

FrenchyQ · 06/02/2019 15:19

I've never found anything but when I was a teenager I used to work for a company that packed grow your own bonsai kits. I lost a ring one day, which I was quite upset about. 3 months later the company got a letter and my ring back, someone had received the kit for Christmas and was honest enough to send it back.

EatingBreadAndHoney · 06/02/2019 15:29

Someone returned a new handbag to me "never used it as I didn't like it" and when I checked it before refunding I found a bundle of bank notes in the pocket.

Buyer swore blind she hadn't even taken it out of my packaging so the money couldn't have been hers, right? Grin
