I've just found a colourful brochure advertising share investments among the drab printouts of a GDPR request I made to the DWP.Shock

Many years ago, the letter inviting me to interview for a STEM subject at university had a poem by Betjeman Pritt-sticked to the back. Reader, I studied there.

I know it's not exactly the same but when I used to be on O2 they randomly sent me a box of sweets through the post! They never did it again though Sad

DH works for a company which sells through Amazon and Ebay.
They regularly get underwear returned inside 'unworn' garments, items returned which they have never stocked or sold, garments crumpled into balls and sellotaped up to return or shoes worn until the soles are (hint: if they can't resell it you won't get a refund).

His favourite was one pair of shoes (not sold by them originally) that someone had clearly boxed and put to one side for a while in a house with a toddler. Apart from the shoes the box contained a TV remote control, a cash card, a toy dog and lots of peas and sliced carrots Grin

My boss gave away her old fridge on local FB page to a young family as she had moved house and had a new fitted kitchen. Her husband forgot to empty it of their food first! Butter, sandwich meat, cheese etc, all went with it. They rang the people who they gave it to, to ask if they could go and pick it up and they never answered their phone.
She was so cross, she'd given away a nice fridge for free and her nice deed ended up buying her on the bum!

*biting!

I heard that someone at my work, who was sending out letters while eating his lunch, included a slice of cheese in the letter 😂

I had a pack of glitter pens with a spare belt for a Hoover I'd ordered from espares.
I've had a box of chocolates in a box with set of diaries I ordered for work, and a random notebook, pen and rubber with a coat I ordered from a major clothes retailer 😂

An absolutely massive and rather angry house spider in the delivery box containing boxes of vinyl gloves. I was not impressed at all with my free gift.

I worked somewhere that had outsourced packing of an item to Prisoners, in a prison. They were putting item + instructions in a box. All good until the complaints came in from people who had purchased the products. Some/one of the prisoners had been slipping porn into the box with the product. Not all of the customers were happy with that....

TressiliansStone · 06/02/2019 21:13

I worked at a printers which produced customised company calendars.

Some of us did suggest it wasn't the best idea in the world to send out advert proofs to the companies buying the wildlife calendar, on the backs of test runs of the porn calendars.

We were overruled by the print manager.

Until the phone started ringing.

@Twirlysnooze I just asked him as I'd forgotten and he thinks he threw them in the bin at the hotel x

When ever I order my contact lenses online they always send me some bags of Haribo sweets in with the order.

They're already alot cheaper than any opticians for my lenses and they arrive within a day of ordering them so the added sweets although not needed are always a lovely find to receive.
