Where the heck has the toddler put my keys?!

Was meant to be meeting a friend for coffee and a walk. Had to pop home after school run to pick up changing bag for DS2. In the two minutes I was occupied with checking I had spare clothes for him etc he has somehow managed to hide my keys so well that I’m still stumped an hour later. Car and house keys so a big bunch as well! He can’t reach the letterbox to post them outside, I’ve looked under the sofa and chairs, in all accessible bags, in the bookcase, in his toyboxes. Any other ideas?!

In the bin? Understairs cupboard? Windowsill? Behind cushions? Your handbag or his changing bag?

NutButterNutter · 06/02/2019 10:23

Sorry just read you've checked bags Blush

wowfudge · 06/02/2019 10:25

In the loo or bin? In a cupboard?

Do you have a little pushalong car thing with a box under the seat? That’s where mine always were!

Aprilshowersarecomingsoon · 06/02/2019 10:27

Ds threw dh's keys on a wardrobe a la Peppa Pig style..

MoveOverDustBunny · 06/02/2019 10:27

Toy kitchen or inside shoes. Favourite places here.

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 06/02/2019 10:29

Toy box? Toilet? Have u left them in the door?

QforCucumber · 06/02/2019 10:29

Still in the outside of the front door from rushing into the house? (done that before)

MrsWooster · 06/02/2019 10:30

Give him another bunch of keys and watch him...

UnalliterativeGeorge · 06/02/2019 10:30

They'd be inside shoes here too

tectonicplates · 06/02/2019 10:31

Out of a cat flap?

Cocobana · 06/02/2019 10:32

Have you looked in your kitchen cupboards? Ds is always putting random stuff in there

WTFIsAGleepglorp · 06/02/2019 10:33

Stuck behind a radiator

MrsBartlettforthewin · 06/02/2019 10:33

In the footstool, the toilet, their toy box, laundry basket, bin, dog bed,

letsdolunch321 · 06/02/2019 10:34

In your coat pocket for safe keeping

Jellyfloodagain · 06/02/2019 10:36

In the seat of any ride along thing, in a house?

TheVanguardSix · 06/02/2019 10:37

Drawer or cupboard he gets into.
Anyplace he likes to store things like a squirrel with its acorns.
Radiator, as stated (almost always the case).
Inside shoes/wellies, saucepans inside the drawer.
Dog/cat bowls
In another door lock, like a bathroom door lock which he’s trying out.

TeddyIsaHe · 06/02/2019 10:39

Inside shoes, inside a saucepan with the lid on, under a corner of the rug, slid underneath the sofa, in any pockets he has? These are all places dd has helpfully put mine. “Keys gone mummy!” Is my most hated phrase.

TheVanguardSix · 06/02/2019 10:40

We had a ride along train by vetch- one which you’d pop the letter blocks throughto shoot out into the train’s ‘carriage’. DS always put my keys through there. I’d invariably find them among letter blocks inside the train’s carriage.

Try looking inside shape sorters too.
Anyplace/toy he can ‘post’ the keys through via slots and openings.

danni0509 · 06/02/2019 10:47

Out the letter box ?

My ds' favourite place!!!!

Jellyfloodagain · 06/02/2019 12:33

Did you find them?

littlemisscomper · 06/02/2019 16:08

If not down the loo, I'm going to guess inside a toy (do you have a play kitchen or anything with a door that opens and shuts) or on a chair seat that's out of your view because they're under the table.

PenguinOnThinIce · 06/02/2019 16:27

Found them! Under an upside-down plastic bowl in a kitchen drawer Hmm.
