I’ve got a lot of left over roast beef. I want to do something with it but have no inspiration....

So ladies what do you do with your left overs?

If there's enough left for another dinner for me and my husband, I freeze it and have it another day. Otherwise it's used for curry, stew or minced for burgers or pasties.

Usually just hot roast beef sandwiches for lunch - one of my favourites!

BreevandercampLGJ · 05/02/2019 20:11

My favourite thing with leftover beef is to slice it thinly and into strips and make stroganoff with it. Have to say that it only works with medium /medium rare cooked roast beef. I recommended it to my Mother and she tried it with well done beef and it was like rubber 😂. She told me I had ruined her leftovers!!

Oakmaiden · 05/02/2019 20:12

Eat it.

nods wisely

Beef madras (loyd grossman jar of sauce plus pepper and onion generally - as I’m too lazy to make curry from scratch - it just never tastes right!)

dingdang · 05/02/2019 20:13

I make Stovies which is beef and mashed tarries mixed up together

TheDuchessofDukeStreet · 05/02/2019 20:15

It’s nice in a roll with a little cream cheese and some watercress.
Mince it for a cottage pie.
Meat and potato croquettes.
Cold with pickles, salad and jacket potatoes.
Hungry for some now. Enjoy!

Devonishome1 · 05/02/2019 20:16

I give it to the dog.

MrsPresley · 05/02/2019 20:17

Stovies! It's the only reason I cook roast beef!

Bubastes · 05/02/2019 20:19

Sandwiches.

Good bread (definitely not shitty bread)
Caramelised onions
Something green
Horseradish
Beef
More good bread

Slice it and put it in a casserole dish with some gravy. Heat up in the oven, serve with some sort of potatoes and veg.

HalfBloodPrincess · 05/02/2019 20:19

Warmed up in a roll with lots of pickled bits.

adiposegirl2 · 05/02/2019 20:22

Here in Mumsnet world, that beef could easily feed a family of 6 for the next 14 days... Or does it only apply to chickens?Grin

jessstan2 · 05/02/2019 20:23

Eat it! Yum, yum. Goes nice with creamy mashed potatoes and Branston pickle.

wherehavealltheflowersgone · 05/02/2019 20:23

Put all the leftover beef, veggies and gravy in a dish. Cover with a pastry lid et voila - beef pie!

RedHatsDoNotSuitMe · 05/02/2019 20:24

rissoles!

Bubastes · 05/02/2019 20:25

a pastry lid does not a pie make. It's just masquerading as a pie.

This is the carb hill i'm prepared to die on.

FawnDrench · 05/02/2019 20:27

Cut it up small and use in shepherds pie or chilli or Spag Bol.
Freeze it to use later.

Ethel80 · 05/02/2019 20:28

Curry if there's anything left after roast beef and mustard sandwiches.

Nanalisa60 · 05/02/2019 20:31

Stoves (Scottish dish) look up traditional Scottish stoves with roast beef online and you will find recipe. They are delicious!!

ModernStoneAgeFamily · 05/02/2019 20:35

Stir fry with a black bean sauce, noodles etc.

ILikeyourHairyHands · 05/02/2019 20:37

If it's rare roast beef I can't bring myself to cook it anymore so have it on sandwiches or a Thai style salad.

GertrudeWilloughby · 05/02/2019 20:44

Lightly warmed through with mashed potatoes, vegetables and lots of lovely thick gravy.

Cold beef and coleslaw in a baguette.

Random snacking as you pass the fridge.

Slice thinly and have in fajitas.
