I seem to have this drawer in my kitchen that's full of random stuff that I can't find anywhere to otherwise put it.Included are suction stickers ,old sunglasses and various rolls of patterned sellotape! Do you have an equivalent and please describe contents .

Every know and then I think right I am clearing this out and getting rid but then I panic and think tomorrow might be the day I need a mini screwdriver set I got in crackers about 5 years ago 😂

Yes!

Box of old batteries - why did we keep them?!
Packs of new batteries
Battery charger- think there's a theme emerging... Grin
Random ball of string
Pack of fridge magnets
Bag of food bag clips

I cleared mine out at the weekend! It’s not my only random crap drawer mind. It had lemon scented finger wipes from lots of takeaway kebabs, 3 empty specs cases, a light for taking selfies on a phone (left after a party), pens, my 16yo 20 week scan pic, pink ribbon, cookie cutters, bamboo skewers, a pencil case my boy made in junior school, loose batteries, a radar key, Torquay United key ring (I live in the north). Obligatory sellotape and take away menus. It will fill up with otherwise homeless stuff again soon

I think everyone has this drawer. We have an entire kitchen cupboard... It has things like batteries, screwdrivers, the breast pump, nails and screws, random paperwork etc. It’s basicslly just the place where anything ‘miscellaneous’ gets shoved.

sproutsandparsnips · 04/02/2019 17:05

Yes I have a drawer with tape measure, screwdrivers, batteries, fuses, cocktail sticks (3 boxes!), curtain rings, picture hooks. And another in the hall with envelopes, cards for various occasions, stamps, cheque books, sellotape, scissors.

userschmoozer · 04/02/2019 17:10

ever growing pile of elastic bands courtesy of the postie.
those plastic covers that go over plugs when you buy a new thing.
dried up old candles (no matches).
an old phone battery.
a spare bulb for the fridge that we no longer need as you can't change the bulb in the new fridge.
some receipts that are so old they are just bits of paper.
a bottle of something that could be perfume but might be food flavouring. Or possibly sewing machine oil?
And a tiny screwdriver.

Where the hell are my sunglasses?

MrsTommyBanks · 04/02/2019 17:11

There was a fascinating thread here a few years ago. Posters put their hand in their draw of randomness, without looking took one thing out and posted a photo.
It's was strangely compelling.
I have three draws of crap.

MrsTommyBanks · 04/02/2019 17:15

@MonoClue I will pay you to come and sort out my draws and cupboards Grin

foxyknoxy30 · 04/02/2019 17:15

We could find out who has the most random item!I definitely wouldn't win, mine are all extremely boring but hopefully one day extremely useful!

I've got a yellow pages in mine. Who actually uses yellow and yellow ages nowadays???

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 04/02/2019 17:21

We have 3 in the kitchen Blush

iklboo · 04/02/2019 17:27

We have two. The bottom drawer in the kitchen has batteries, miscellaneous leads, tea lights, sewing stuff, shoe polishing pads, electric things that don't work.

The other draw has random cards, glasses cases, ribbons, instruction manuals and a 1997 Nokia brick phone.

LurpakIsTheOnlyButter · 04/02/2019 17:31

Mine is called the shit drawer.

Contents including but not limited to

A mother's Day card I bought my mum about 5 years ago and still haven't sent
Batteries but never the ones i need
Several rolls of sellotape
Memory sticks
Sharpies
Takeout menus from places we never order from
Reward chart stickers that kids are too big for now
Strange things that no one knows what they are but that we dare not chuck just in case. In case of what...no one knows

IamFrauBlucher · 04/02/2019 17:45

Yep. Affectionately known as the "drawer of crap" here.

Where else do you keep that one birthday candle burnt down to 1/2 centimeter with a blob of 8 year old congealed icing on it? Grin

As I've found my people, I'm sharing the contents.....

KeptTheBeachesShipwreckFree · 04/02/2019 17:48

Those mini screwdrivers come in handy for mending my glasses. I have one at home, one in the car and one in my bag. I could get some new frames but they're too expensive!

IamFrauBlucher · 04/02/2019 17:52

I'm sure you'll all appreciate the randomness of:

A half pack of UNO kept neatly together with two hair bands

The pills in the purple box are to be taken in the event of a catastrophe in the nuclear power plant 40km away (every householder in the radius gets a pack)

A pack of Golden nuggets chewing gum for childhood memory purposes now 8 years old.

A packet of pink tokens bought for the dodgems at a traveling fair 4 years ago.

A leather case to hold two cigars

All essential items for snow/zombie etc disasters

KeptTheBeachesShipwreckFree · 04/02/2019 17:54

This is ours. I don't know why I've kept the twine - I'm not a gardener and it can't really be used for anything else!

IamFrauBlucher · 04/02/2019 17:55

@KeptTheBeachesShipwreckFree - yours is far too organized and useful!!!

Grin
Arkos · 04/02/2019 17:57

We call it the messy drawer. It has everything from tape measure to batteries to random broken bits that never get mended

foxyknoxy30 · 04/02/2019 17:57

Thinking about it I have a random box of crap in my cupboard too, had a look Halloween make up from about 8 years ago!

OP posts:
zebakrheum · 04/02/2019 18:01

Yes - ours is called the Basket of Doom Grin

EastMidsGPs · 04/02/2019 18:02

Do none of you have:
Various spare Christmas tree light bulbs (we no longer have the lights)
Pre decimal coins
An odd assortment of foreign coins
Unopened Fortune Cookies
Unused popper things that spray bits of string all over

Oh, just us then !!!

AlpacaLypse · 04/02/2019 18:08

We've got an entire six-drawer tallboy chest, which is entirely man-drawer. Theoretically the topmost one is meant to be medicines, the second electricals, third other tools, fourth table cloths, placemats, candles, other occasionally used items for the dining table, fifth is spare lightbulbs, and bottom cleaning stuff eg spare bags for Henry.

But of course over the years things have been stuffed at high speed back into the wrong drawers, usually because one of my less slutty relatives is coming to visit (and less slutty means absolutely all of them).

AlpacaLypse · 04/02/2019 18:09

@EastMidsGPs we've got an entire catering size megapack of those party popper things!

Bouledeneige · 04/02/2019 18:18

Large cupboard of crap in my kitchen. Includes lightbulbs, spray snow, old diaries, a tray, the iron, envelopes, party poppers, glue, a hairdryer, a printer ink cartridge ( I no longer have that printer), tippex, a video, wrapping paper, pencils, books.
