If you could live anywhere in the UK, where would it be?

Having a chat about where we would like to live but we're obviously constrained with practicalities like work and children's school. So conversation led to Ok if I didn't have to worry about work and children's education where would I like to live and I didn't have a clue!
So where would you live within the UK if there were no constraints and why?

Either where we are (Kent - easy commute to London and we're settled) or Bath (where OH is from).

Where I live, in a beautiful friendly Devon town with an amazing community spirit.

If I had to move I would try rural Yorkshire or rural Gloucester and look for a similar village.

Yorkshire. Or Hampshire/Dorset or Glasgow. Currently live in a naice market town in the south east.

There's loads of places I'd love to live if I had shedloads of money (a place in Central London would be fab). I love Bridport and that jurassic coast area.

I love the Peaks (esp the areas around Sheffield, which I think is a great town). I love Wiltshire, Yorkshire, Ireland.

But I also love where I live (can't say where though as it's outing!)

Wow! So much love for Scotland on here! I think nearly half the posts mention it. While I've always wanted to visit,all I've heard from friends and family is how cold it is up there which is a deal breaker for me as a place to live!

If I could afford it, a trendy part of central London would be ideal for me.

Otherwise I'm happy where I am, I wouldn't live anywhere else.

I have lived by the seaside and in the country and I didn't like either, I found it so dull. I like cities and big towns.

York. A posh village outside.
North Lakes. Somewhere around Penrith.

But really I want coastal. St Ives, Lyme Regis, Robin Hoods Bay.....

I already live in my perfect place on the coast in Fife.

I have no idea why anyone would choose to live in Stirling above all places. We moved from there as it was grim.
