I’m 41 and have 15 years left
It’s less than 500 per month so hoping to repay earlier

Just trying to do some longer term financial planning

27, 14 years left technically but we overpay so if we stay here I hope to lower that. All being well though we plan to move and increase the mortgage so we would have to increase the term to afford that.

itsbritneybiatches · 30/01/2019 11:51

39 15 years

38 and 17 years left. We'll be moving within the next 10 years and having a bigger mortgage though...

Ribeebie · 30/01/2019 11:57

31 and 19 years less but we're overpaying so hoping to pay off sooner

WhoKnewBeefStew · 30/01/2019 11:58

46 and 17 years left. But I’ve put savings in place and pensions so I’ll be able to pay it off in 9 years time

Darkbaptism · 30/01/2019 12:00

41 and about 11 years left but should be less as over paying.
We paid a mortgage off 7 years ago but then moved to a bigger house 5 years ago and got another mortgage.

BrieAndOatcakes · 30/01/2019 12:01

Mid 30s, it'll be gone by the time I'm 40. But, we bought a £100k house (ex council semi) in our 20s, have overpaid as much as possible and never "upsized" as this house meets our needs.

BrieAndOatcakes · 30/01/2019 12:03

P.S. I know we've been lucky to live somewhere where buying so cheap was an option, but equally a lot of people we know locally would also be close to paying off their mortgages if they were happy to live where we do (not a bad area, but not middle class), drive an old car etc..

skippy67 · 30/01/2019 12:03

I'm 51 and we have 2 years left.

WrapAndRoll · 30/01/2019 12:03

Old and infinity.

dawn96 · 30/01/2019 12:04

Kknightxx · 30/01/2019 12:05

Im 21 , partner 26 we have 34 & a half years left on our morgage. (Only had it for 6 months so far) :)

00100001 · 30/01/2019 12:06

35 - 12 years

Megan2018 · 30/01/2019 12:06

40, 25 years left. We moved 5 months ago and wanted to keep payments low as cash poor right now. Have been a home owner since 23 but bought a second property with DH at 36. I am likely to inherit far more than the mortgage balance though so it will probably be cleared before I am 65, morbid as that is so not worried!

reluctantbrit · 30/01/2019 12:35

45 and 14 years left. It is based on DH's age and when he will retire.

We currently overpay each months so I hope we are getting away with a lot less as DD is finishing school in 6 years and I need money for college.

FrangipaniBlue · 30/01/2019 12:40

37 (DH 39) and just over 5 years left, hoping to pay it off sooner though

Wallywobbles · 30/01/2019 12:52

48 & 50. 9 years or less

cheesenpickles · 30/01/2019 12:56

33, officially 17 years but should be paid off in 6. Four bed with garden and garage in the south.

Spidey66 · 30/01/2019 13:01

52, paid it off with an inheritance age 44.

lastqueenofscotland · 30/01/2019 13:02

27 and 14 years

JustMarriedAndLovingIt · 30/01/2019 13:05

35 and have 31.5 years left 😥 Currently pay £886pcm. Our plan is to remortgage in 1.5 years to a better rate (we only had a 6.5% deposit), reduce the term and overpay.

yearinyearout · 30/01/2019 13:07

49 and we paid it off about three years ago. That said, we have never maxed out on the mortgage and just stayed in a house that was big enough without being flash. When we could've afforded to buy a more luxurious house with a bigger mortgage we stayed put and overpaid 13 years early. It's great not to have that financial commitment, but the small "keeping up appearances" part of me sometimes wishes we had bought something better. No point now the DC have moved out!

MrsAmaretto · 30/01/2019 13:12

38 and we have just remortgaged to a 5year term. We now owe about 50k. We don’t over pay each month, but instead invest in dh’s Employers share scheme to (hopefully) build capital. 2 weeks ago we paid off over £100k which was an amazing feeling!

Whisky2014 · 30/01/2019 13:15

I'm 32 and we have 21 years left. So I'll be 53 latest when we own. But we overpay so will reduce this.
