Selling breastmilk

Endofrelationship · 26/01/2019 18:58

I can find American sites for selling breastmilk but not ones in the uk. I'm specifically talking about selling to body builders and the like.

I've tried donating it and I'm on a few donation facebook pages but no one is in my area and it's coming to the chuck it time.

I've already donated lots to my local milk bank.

My question is, does anyone know where/ how I could sell it?

What does it do for bodybuilders Confused?

TheGreenDot · 26/01/2019 19:02

@TheQueef why yuck? Do you buy cows milk?

BinaryStar · 26/01/2019 19:03

I’ve only seen donation sites like the Facebook groups Human Milk got Human Babies but that is free. I’ve never seen it sold. Why not just give the rest to the milk bank rather than chuck it?

BinaryStar · 26/01/2019 19:04

*for human babies

3boysandabump · 26/01/2019 19:05

Why not just give the rest to the milk bank?

TheQueef · 26/01/2019 19:07

I'm picturing sweaty musclebound gym types suckling at a bottle Dot not eurgh breast milk just eurgh bodybuilders Grin

Artfullydead · 26/01/2019 19:10

It's for perves. Bless the OP Grin

I am on my work laptop so I don't dare search but yeah ... specialist market though!

Endofrelationship · 26/01/2019 19:11

The milk bank don't want the rest as too old. Still fine for my baby and others, but the milk bank have a very strict criteria.

I've tried giving it away and no one wants it (not local).

Body builders like it for some reason! Think it's the protein.

I don't care if perves buy it to be honest!

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 26/01/2019 19:12

Can you legally sell it in the UK? I think you'd have to go to "sketchy" places like selling on Gumtree or Facebook, and be aware that people may expect "extras" in those environments, like photographs. I was involved in an investigative journalism piece on this a few years ago.

I'd just donate it all or throw it, if I'm honest.

GalacticChickenShit · 26/01/2019 19:12

Why not freeze it?

Endofrelationship · 26/01/2019 19:21

AnchorDownDeepBreath yes, you can legally sell it.

GalacticChickenShit it is frozen.

Ok I'm a retired female BB and I can absolutely tell you bodybuilders, not those that are serious about their training, will down breast milk. My god the thought makes my stomach turn Confused

It actually contains less protein than cows milk so I think someone has been pulling your leg!

Eminybob · 26/01/2019 19:23

Just bin it. Urgh why would you want “perves” to have it?

Artfullydead · 26/01/2019 19:24

For money!

Eminybob · 26/01/2019 19:25

But she was planning to give it away for free originally!

SneakyGremlins · 26/01/2019 19:26
Confused
AnchorDownDeepBreath · 26/01/2019 19:26

I don't care if perves buy it to be honest!

In that case, team it with some sexy pictures and used bras and it'll sell on Gumtree id imagine. It's not the safest of practices so be careful. Only meet in public places, make sure someone knows where you are and all that

Artfullydead · 26/01/2019 19:29

Nah they aren't interested in that - seriously. Yeah, some will pay to have it from source but no chance - just the milk will do.

BoomTish · 26/01/2019 19:29

Aren’t you pregnant? Surely just keep it for next baby?

IWouldPreferNotTo · 26/01/2019 19:29

Would you be willing to deal with shipping it frozen as I think that's the biggest barrier to entry as you'd have to deal with a fair bit of hassle.

There's probably not a big enough market to work with a centralised distribution hub.

From a Web site and payment processing perspective its not an overly challenging setup.

If you could enlist a few other people it could work.

GalacticChickenShit · 26/01/2019 19:31

If it's frozen why do you need to chuck it out? Didn't you have a baby last week?
