How do you pronounce 'eczema'?

I hear a lot of ex-eeee-ma in Scotland. God it grinds my gears for some reason.

It makes me feel weird when I hear people say Ex-zee-mah, like when people say Thee- Etta for theatre.

I've only heard Scottish friends say x zee ma.

It's x ma to me. I don't know how you can get x zee ma out of it!

Ecksma but my Scottish family members say Eckzeema (and it’s secretly like nails down a chalkboard to me). I’m sure the way I say it irritates them too!

I hear ex-eema quite frequently though.

I ask because a colleague said "Eckzeema" yesterday and I had to stop myself from saying "What?! It's ECKSMA!" He's not Scottish either.

I say it eks-uh-ma but the middle syllable is really subtle so it would sound more like eks-ma if you’re not listening carefully.
