Not a car parking AIBU

Nc but I'm a reg.
Might not be the most thrilling thread ever, but hey ho 😂

There's been a car parked in my street, engine on and man in passenger seat. Fairly normal, right?
Except he's been there for TWO DAYS

At what point would you become concerned? If he's watching someone he's not being subtle about it!

Two days continuously?! Where is he weeing?!

Shouldistayorshouldifrodo · 25/01/2019 21:41

I can't see the car from the house, but yesterday I was in and out all day and pretty much the same today, must have walked past 8 times yesterday and nearly the same today!
Assume he must pee and eat and sleep sometime!

how bizarre.

surely he will run out of petrol soon?

what kind of street? (busy high street with shops or suburban idyll/somewhere in between??)

Shouldistayorshouldifrodo · 25/01/2019 21:45

Supermarket literally 2 mins away, otherwise a quiet street...
Should mention before it becomes a drip feed that across the road from where he is is a halfway house..

Report to police on the non urgent line.

Give them the reg and a description of the person in the car if possible. The behaviour is odd so I wouldn’t approach yourself.

Fiddie · 25/01/2019 22:17

Knock on his window and tell him it's illegal to leave your car idling.

Fiddie · 25/01/2019 22:18

That's obviously a joke.

I'd leave him to it.

He’s been sitting in the car in the same place for two whole days with the engine running??

thelittlestsausage · 25/01/2019 22:22

I'm going to settle in to watch this unfold 😁😁

Placemarking Grin

Drogosnextwife · 25/01/2019 22:28

Is he there at night too?

Weenurse · 25/01/2019 22:29

Does he look like a police officer or under cover detective?

KlutzyDraconequus · 25/01/2019 23:23

Take him a cup of tea , bet he's frozen solid.

Shouldistayorshouldifrodo · 25/01/2019 23:24

He's there at night.
For example, yesterday I went past him twice early morning 8am & 9am, 1pm, half 1, 3pm, 4pm, and 9pmish.

Times are not precise 😂

Doesn't look like a copper, but isn't the point of undercover to remain so? 😝

Shouldistayorshouldifrodo · 25/01/2019 23:27

I think the engine has been running everytime I've walked past it, I'll keep an eye out and see if he ever turns it off- he must do though? Not possible surely to keep it running constantly

RedHatsDoNotSuitMe · 25/01/2019 23:28

If he's there long enough, you can order some penguin bollards to block him in?

heidipi · 25/01/2019 23:35

My flatmate once reported a man who had been sat outside ours in his car for over 24 hours. It was on new year's day (about 20 years ago). A police car cruised by and spoke to him - turned our the bloke's wife had gone off with a neighbour of ours on NYE and he was waiting for her to emerge so he could beg her to go back to him. He was very apologetic and we felt terrible, poor chap. Eventually he gave up and left. 😬

Shouldistayorshouldifrodo · 25/01/2019 23:40

That thought crossed my mind! What if he's just hiding out in his car from an angry partner? 😂

OP posts:
Oddsocksandmeatballs · 25/01/2019 23:41

Homeless and living out of his car maybe?

tectonicplates · 25/01/2019 23:43

Private investigator?

artisanscotcheggs · 26/01/2019 05:51

where is he weeing?

I can’t breathe. 😹

xtinak · 26/01/2019 06:16

Order him a pizza.

ForalltheSaints · 26/01/2019 06:28

I agree with the calling 111 suggestion.
