Maui's not a nice guy is he?

I loved Moana, I was so pleased DD liked a film where it wasn't a love story, a male and female got shit done and there was nothing between them. But I realised the other day, Maui's a bit of a bastard isn't he? He tried to leave her in the cave to die so he could steal her boat, then when she survived he threw her in the sea thinking that would finish her off also.
I've always wanted to know why Olaf half melting in front of the fire and telling Ana some people were worth melting for wasn't an act of love? He declared it! (Although maybe the crux of that was that he didn't actually melt.)
Can anyone else enlighten me as to other things I've missed in Disney films?

I love Moana so so much. The bit at the beginning where baby Moana meets the ocean is just gorgeous. Maui is awesome. Grandma is awesome. Crab is shiny. It's just a delight.

Also love Frozen. Though I am and always will be Team Anna.

I also highly recommend Zootropolis. So, so good. Even if the sexy dancing tigers at the end are all shades of wrong.

I love the line as a diverrrrrsion. It’s brilliantly funny.

@QuantumWeatherButterfly Zootropolis is one of my favourite films ever! My 2.5 year old is just getting into movies and we must have watched this one dozens of times already!

I love the camp crab, he's brilliant-the end bit 'oh, if I were a cute little crab with a Jamaican accent called Sebastian...' (or words to that effect!) is hilarious

Alas the only film I've watched43 times this week is Trolls. I can't find my Moana DVD even though DS keeps asking whilst handing me Maui and Moana
