What to make for dessert after supper this evening?

Soo...I'm batch cooking today- had work yesterday so didn't get much weekend catch-up house work done.
I've made a batch of meatballs for the freezer, shepherd's pie for this evening and one to freeze, chicken curry for freezer- done.

It's v chilly here, and I fancy dessert with custard. Stumped on what to have.
Anyone fancy inspiring me??
Please?

Sponge pudding ( I make mine in the microwave) Then heat either marmalade, jam or lemon curd in a small pan to pour over the pud with lots of custard

MadameJosephine · 20/01/2019 16:15

Fruit crumble, preferably plum or rhubarb but if not apple with raisins and cinnamon. Yummy 😋

Whatdoyouknowwhenyouknownowt · 20/01/2019 16:15

bananas/plums in custard

Brownies and custard. Yum.

Gotstuckwiththisname · 20/01/2019 16:18

Can't beat a crumble with custard.

Or quick sticky toffee pudding www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/725648/quick-sticky-toffee-puddings

CountessConstance · 20/01/2019 16:18

I have bananas in; also tinned pears. No cooking apples, or lemons.
I am hibernating and don't want to go to the shops.

Oh, wait....Raera do you have a recipe? Please and thanks. I have marmalade.

I also have some salted caramel sauce from Bonne Maman but nothing on their website inspires me.

Brownies and custard sounds good. Decadent.

Decadent is good. I need a larger layer of fat as I contemplate the cold snap coming.

Also crumble, but easier if you already have cooked fruit prepped in freezer.

CountessConstance · 20/01/2019 16:22

Hmmm, crumble.
I have tinned pears. Perhaps, pear crumble?

Alanamackree · 20/01/2019 16:25

Or pear upside down cake

PlumCakeChica · 20/01/2019 16:25

Tinned pears - google pear almond pudding by river cottage. Mostly ingredients you wd have in cupboard.

Northernmum100 · 20/01/2019 16:26

This went down well with custard in our house.....

Alanamackree · 20/01/2019 16:26

banana cake

madvixen · 20/01/2019 16:26

Banana bread with a salted caramel drizzle 😋

Raera · 20/01/2019 16:30

Weigh 2 eggs, then use the same weight of SR flour, butter and sugar and either do creaming method or all in one to mix.
Put in greased microwave proof pudding bowl, cover with cling film and cook for 6-8 minutes.
Remove cling film immediately it's cooked being careful of escaping steam. Needs to be eaten same day, it doesn't keep as in effect it's steamed not baked

PotteringAlong · 20/01/2019 16:31

We’re having crumble. Very randomly it’s blueberry and stewed apple because that’s what I had in the freezer!

CountessConstance · 20/01/2019 16:33

Sadly, it appears that I will have to spend the rest of this evening in the kitchen.
I must have both the banana cake (possibly with salted caramel drizzle) and pear something-or-other.

Pear crumble is lovely.
You could also use eating apple, and would need less sugar to sweeten than with cooking apple. Throw in a handful of dried fruit if you have any.

MintyCedric · 20/01/2019 17:25

If it's going with custard then bread and butter pudding would get my vote every time

christmaschristmaschristmas · 20/01/2019 17:34

Pineapple upside-down cake. Mmmm.

trickyex · 20/01/2019 17:43

Pear crumble for sure, with oats/flaked almond topping and perhaps some chocolate in there?

Disfordarkchocolate · 20/01/2019 17:48

Pear crumble with oats, ginger and ground almonds in the crumble. I really want pudding but I don't feel well.

Lobsterquadrille2 · 20/01/2019 17:48

Gosh, I admire you lot!! I don't think I've ever made a pudding. Especially not after work.

PotteringAlong · 20/01/2019 17:52

I can report that the stewed Apple and blueberry crumble was a bit random but went down very well Smile

RagingWhoreBag · 20/01/2019 17:52

My mum made a pear and maple sponge pudding once, that was lovely. Just like syrup sponge but maple syrup instead, and tinned pears.
