Soo...I'm batch cooking today- had work yesterday so didn't get much weekend catch-up house work done.
I've made a batch of meatballs for the freezer, shepherd's pie for this evening and one to freeze, chicken curry for freezer- done.

It's v chilly here, and I fancy dessert with custard. Stumped on what to have.
Anyone fancy inspiring me??
Please?

Nigella's chocolate pear pudding - Soooo easy. It's always what I make when I need pudding quickly. www.nigella.com/recipes/chocolate-pear-pudding

Currently have banana cake á la Alana in the oven.
Alongside it is the River Cafe pear almond pudding from PlumCakeChica

Apologies Raera I didn't notice you returned with the recipe. But, that sounds Friday-evening-before-the-family-movie-night-easy.

Am thrilled I started this thread....lots of ideas to get us through the winter.
Slices of Cake for everyone.

So, this pear and almond cake is lovely.
A cake that can rise to an occasion as needed, but easily thrown together (almost always have a tin of pears languishing in the cupboards).
I could see this doing book club nights/family events/handy dessert to call on when needed.
Very easy, few steps, took a bit longer in the oven, than the recipe said.

Kids preferred the banana cake. We heated some salted caramel sauce to have with it.
I've put the remains of this in the freezer for after school snacks.
Had some bananas frozen so quickly defrosted to throw them into the batter.

Highly recommend both......thank you all so much. My fried brain was short of inspiration. Flowers
