I can't sleep thinking about that poor kid down the well

I know fuck all about engineering so i'm not going to say why don't they hurry up but they must be close to reaching him by now surely

I can't bloody sleep, his poor parents must be in utter terror for him

Me too. I remember a similar case in Italy years ago which didn't have a happy ending, but there was also a little girl in America and they did manage to rescue her.

I hope to God they get him out but I think it's been nearly a week now.

I've just been reading about this too, I don't think it's looking too good tbh.

It's been over 5 days and there's been no sound heard from the boy since he fell.

His parents also suffered the death of his older brother aged 3 in 2017.

Absolutely awful.

I’ve been thinking about this little boy a lot as well. I have a child who is a similar age I can’t even begin to imagine what the parents are going through or the LB Sad it’s been nearly a week now and without any food or water and with him being such a young age I’m not hopeful that there will be a happy outcome to this Sad

I don't understand why they haven't been able send down some of that equipment they use to detect sound etc (chilian miners)

But again, i'm not an engineer so I have no idea. If ever there was a time for a miracle its now. The rescuers said they think he is in an air pocket which may have water.

We have a cess pit on our farm which has no cover. I have drummed it in to the kids from when they could walk that they shouldn't go near it. I freak out if they even go within twenty meters of it. Think thats why this is bothering me so much.

The person who drilled this borehole says he covered it up but the family are saying he didn't. What an awful awful thing to happen.

I can't stop thinking about this incident either. I can't believe it's taking so long, though like you I know nothing of engineering, and the rescuers are desperate to reach him themselves. I agree it's not looking good Sad

OP - please order an inspection lid. Is there a reason why it's not on there? That would scare me rigid too. We had a septic tank and like you we were always old not to play near it. But it did have a lid on it. You could be liable if someone else falls in.

I keep checking for updates on him too. It’s so horrific, that poor boy and his poor family Sad in my head I’m thinking hurry the fuck up! But realistically I know that they’ll have to do slowly and carefully to avoid the hole he is in collapsing. I just hope he’s ok.

I can't find any updates this morning, that link is in Spanish, anybody seen anything?

Septic tank is the landlords responsibility and he refuses to do anything about it as its 'always been like that'. Its quite a way from the house so i'm not overly worried as the kids have no need to go over there and its surrounded by scrub/nettles etc

There was a programme with original news footage from the time a couple of decades ago. Even if you don't understand Italian, and at times while we were watching it I really wished I didn't, his mum's tormented face and that poor little boy's piteous cries were enough to make your heart break in two.

Made me suspect Ben Needham may have suffered the same awful fate....
Has had me checking my phone several times during the night. The family lost their other dc to a heart attack at 3 on the beach a few years ago. Too much heartache for one family.

I don’t think they can send equipment down in the same way because after he fell there was a rock slide that blocked him in? That’s why they’re doing a new tunnel. Latest news says they are almost there but will be slowed by hard rock before they reach him.
