I was 26. Did lessons at 17 but never went on to do the text. Think you've pit this in the wrong place though.

Sparklingbrook · 19/01/2019 10:31

I don't think OP gets the idea of AMA Grin

IHaveBrilloHair · 19/01/2019 10:32

No theory test then either.

I’m 31 and still can’t drive. I’m now on DPs insurance and planning on taking lessons. I need to learn this year!

BuffaloCauliflower · 19/01/2019 10:33

I was 24. Couldn’t have afforded it before then. I passed first time.

Sparklingbrook · 19/01/2019 10:33

IHaveBrilloHair, yes no theory test and no parallel parking!

Sparklingbrook · 19/01/2019 10:34

It was £6 an hour when I learned. DS2 (17) is now paying £30.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 19/01/2019 10:36

Just 18 (would have been 17, but it was very cold and a water pipe burst and flooded the test centre so it was cancelled!).

Roomba · 19/01/2019 10:37

Just turned 19. I started lessons at 18 and it took a good year of weekly lessons before I was ready. Passed first time though and never had an accident (touch wood!) in 23 years. No theory test, just a few questions about road signs/stopping distances at the end.

My ex didn't start learning until he was 31. He passed his test aged 34 on the 4th attempt (he had to retake his theory as it expires after two years and he hadn't passed the practical in that time).

cliffdiver · 19/01/2019 10:38

Only clicked on this to see if someone had come on to correct the title Grin

I was 17. To pass quickly I’d suggest doing as much practice outside of lessons as possible, if you can be insured on a car with someone else present. That’s how I passed first time. Also longer lessons are useful, you get more time driving rather than setting up etc

2019hereicome · 19/01/2019 10:40
  1. Started learning at 20. Had to put it off. Started again at 21 and passed second time.
Judashascomeintosomemoney · 19/01/2019 10:40

18, second attempt, no theory test then.

FuckOffMeadowSoprano · 19/01/2019 11:00
