Me: 1. David Cameron although of course it is a very close run thing with 2. Boris Johnson and 3. Nigel Farage - nuff said.

  1. Jeremy Corbyn - but actually I can't bring myself to hate him all that much for not putting up a strong Labour campaign against Brexit because he never pretended he was a Remainer himself. He is and always has been pro-Brexit from a different angle. He probably shouldn't have been elected leader in the first place.

I've voted Labour in the GE for the entirety of my voting life (since 1983) but at this moment I don't actually feel any anger towards Theresa May - I rather grudgingly admire her. She knows her time as leader is short lived. I have yet to see anyone saying anything tangible about how they could have done it better!

Dh and I are both passionate, passionate Remainers. But we can't support a second vote - it will result in the most horrendous civil unrest! Anyone who thinks the 48% who voted to leave the EU will just quietly accept a different result from a second referendum is deluded.

And so I come back to most visceral hatred for a political figure just now = Cameron for putting us here. It sickens me to the pit of my stomach, thinking of him living his rarified, cosy, massively over-privileged Eton-educated life in Chipping fucking Norton, earning millions as a public speaker off the back of his very short time in politics, running away from the mess he created. What a complete and utter ARSE.

David Cameron
Boris Johnson
Jeremy Corbyn

whiteroseredrose · 16/01/2019 07:12

Gordon Brown for stealthily raiding private pensions when he first became Chancellor.

Whovever lied when we first joined the common market. It was supposed to be about trade. Apparently even at the time it was made clear that for the UK it was not about ever closer union.

Johnson and Cameron. Where to start Angry.
And Thatcher and Duncan-Smith a close second.

The sliding doors moment was when the unions chose Ed and not David - absolutely. The end of an electable Labour government.

mateysmum · 16/01/2019 07:40

David wanker Cameron. How dare he leave us in this shit heap and bugger off to his shepherd's hut in the Cotswolds.

Can't bring myself to hate Corbyn he's such a pathetic, unintelligent tosser.

John McDonnell - now he's dangerous because he has more brain cells than his idiot leader and some very scary political views that would make brexit look like a tea party.

Schmoobarb · 16/01/2019 07:43

In this order

Alex Salmond
David Cameron
Theresa May
All of the DUP
BoJo
Corbyn

Sarahlou63 · 16/01/2019 07:44

Did Jo Cox not teach you anything about "visceral hate"?

Disfordarkchocolate · 16/01/2019 07:47

I'd forgotten about May and her 'hostile environment', official racism in the most part.

NameChangeNugget · 16/01/2019 07:50

David Blunkett.

His policies lead us to where we are sadly today

Moussemoose · 16/01/2019 08:00

Still Thatcher

Redact · 16/01/2019 08:03

Cameron, hands down Cameron for getting us into this mess. But also Boris, May, Clegg, Corbyn all self serving and whose actions have helped get us to this point. There's Gove, Hunt, Rees Mogg so many actually, all self serving and whose thoughts and actions are never towards the good of the country

EssentialHummus · 16/01/2019 08:10

This festering pit we’re in - David Cameron. But if Theresa May espouses Christian values I’m Miss California.

Graphista · 16/01/2019 08:14

Ohtheroses I'm shocked to say I'd never heard of dolphin square. Just goes to show there's precedence for such an idea (and I thought I was being so original!).

It's obscene for mps to have TWO houses when there's a housing crisis!

Deadsouls · 16/01/2019 08:15

Well visceral hatred is a bit strong for me can I say 'angry with'?
David Cameron
Jacob Rees Mogg
Theresa May
Nigel Farage
David Davies
can I say Donald trump?

Racecardriver · 16/01/2019 08:16

I don’t get emotionally invested in politics. Too close to being religious for my taste.

CigarsofthePharoahs · 16/01/2019 08:16

Sir Robert Peel.
The opium wars in China. None of the current shitshow even come close.

Boom76 · 16/01/2019 08:23

I forgot about Salmond and Sturgeon. They’ve destroyed Scotland

OllyBJolly · 16/01/2019 08:28

I forgot about Salmond and Sturgeon. They’ve destroyed Scotland

When I see what's happening with public services in England - especially with the NHS and education - I am so glad I get to go home to Scotland. And I say that as a Labour Party member (not sure for how much longer).

Luglio · 16/01/2019 08:28

Thatcher. Always and forever.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 16/01/2019 08:33

I'm glad someone else mentioned Churchill because I loathe him. Followed by Thatcher. I loathe Blair's foreign policy, but also think he did some good work in terms of regeneration. I'm sorry - but I also consider anyone after Blair as 'B Ark' - so pathetic as not really deserving of loathing.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 16/01/2019 10:25

Agree with pretty much all of what Graphista said. Although I can't hate Blair entirely because he introduced the minimum wage.

Corbyn is now doing my nut in, I say this as a lifelong labour voter. As the
Tories have made Brexit their policy he should be opposing it, not trying to waste time edging for a general election they won't win. If Labour had no Brexit as their own policy Remainers would have someone to get behind.

Sooverthemill · 16/01/2019 10:28

Always Thatcher as she destroyed lives. But this very minute Cameron and Johnson and Farage if he counts as a politician

Riotingbananas · 16/01/2019 11:04

We've ended up with a remainer leading a split party trying to get us out of Europe and the possibility, in the event of an election, of an ardent leaver heading up a mostly remain party trying to get us to stay in/leave (I really have no idea which Corbyn would try to do, all he wants is to be elected) Europe. What a cock up.

Much of the blame for the mess must lie with Farage. Whilst I agree about Cameron calling the referendum to appease his right wingers, whilst frog face Farage was on the scene, the issue was never going to go away. Being generous, you might say that Cameron always assumed the referendum would go the remainers way, and saw it as a way of shutting up UKIP once and for all. Or you could see it as an act of supreme arrogance. Or stupidity. Or all three.

Corbyn could never badge Labour as the party of 'remain' because he's always been a brexiteer. He doesnt have the vision of Blair to mould himself into something electable (that's not a compliment to Blair by the way!).

Graphista · 16/01/2019 12:12

"Always Thatcher as she destroyed lives"

10,000's dead as a direct result of austerity policies - fact established by coroners despite obfuscation and manoeuvring by govt.
