Which UK politician (past or present) do you feel the most visceral hatred towards right now?

Me: 1. David Cameron although of course it is a very close run thing with 2. Boris Johnson and 3. Nigel Farage - nuff said.

  1. Jeremy Corbyn - but actually I can't bring myself to hate him all that much for not putting up a strong Labour campaign against Brexit because he never pretended he was a Remainer himself. He is and always has been pro-Brexit from a different angle. He probably shouldn't have been elected leader in the first place.

I've voted Labour in the GE for the entirety of my voting life (since 1983) but at this moment I don't actually feel any anger towards Theresa May - I rather grudgingly admire her. She knows her time as leader is short lived. I have yet to see anyone saying anything tangible about how they could have done it better!

Dh and I are both passionate, passionate Remainers. But we can't support a second vote - it will result in the most horrendous civil unrest! Anyone who thinks the 48% who voted to leave the EU will just quietly accept a different result from a second referendum is deluded.

And so I come back to most visceral hatred for a political figure just now = Cameron for putting us here. It sickens me to the pit of my stomach, thinking of him living his rarified, cosy, massively over-privileged Eton-educated life in Chipping fucking Norton, earning millions as a public speaker off the back of his very short time in politics, running away from the mess he created. What a complete and utter ARSE.

Blair closely followed by Brown.
Jointly they are the main cause of the issues we are having with Brexit.
I'll never forgive Blair for taking us to war.
They recked the finances of this country.

Ivegotthree · 17/01/2019 13:20

Corbyn

Moussemoose · 17/01/2019 17:19

The issues of Brexit start with Thatcher.

Housing crisis started by Thatcher selling off council housing.

Impoverished abandoned areas - deindustrialisation was an active policy.

I could go on.

Margaret Thatcher - always have and always will.

awaynboilyurheid · 17/01/2019 18:02

Would probably vote for Margaret Thacher in the past, her short sighted short term economic policies devastated and continues to devastate many areas of the country. However op I agree with you David Cameron has divided this country and brought into absolute chaos yet walked away Scott free. He should be tried for treason. He should have fought hard to have our economic input to the EU reduced not submitted to a minority of his own party who wanted to leaveI . I also cannot abide people who say why don’t we just
walk away or why is it taking so long etc etc It’s laws trade deals it’s complicated stuff you absolute morons!.
Sorry had to get that off my chest ... if I ever saw him or that Farage or that sly git Johnstone I would not be responsible for my actions.

Joint 1st place- Thatcher and Blair.
Phase 1 & 2 of the same agenda imho.

Osborne and Cameron- welfare reform

Gove- The early years and education will not be the same 10 years from now. It started before the the academies. Ofsted is now superseded by United nation directive

BeachtheButler · 17/01/2019 20:42

Cameron. Cameron. Cameron. Cameron. Cameron. Cameron. Cameron. Cameron. Cameron. Cameron. Cameron. Cameron. Cameron. Cameron. Cameron.

luckylavender · 17/01/2019 21:04

So many to chose from but Thatcher has to win.

Gotstuckwiththisname · 17/01/2019 21:09

Margaret Thatcher.

SciFiScream · 17/01/2019 21:19

I refuse to hate them - they aren't even worth that level of emotional energy. I dislike so many of them though.

Anothermothersusername · 17/01/2019 21:26

Corbyn
MacDonnell
Sturgeon
Blair (because of the war and all those poor young soldiers who came home in a coffin)
McVey (horrible uncaring woman)
Johnson (self-serving career politician)
Rees-Mogg (where to start??! He belongs in to a different era)
Camoron (arrogant, no loyalty and then scarpered when things didn’t go the way he thought they would)
Abbott (dangerously inept)

800msprint · 17/01/2019 21:28

Cameron - currently writing his fucking memoirs in a shepherd hut in the cotswolds.

ScienceIsTruth · 17/01/2019 21:32

I dislike them all.

They're all lying, self serving idiots.

Can't even think of one that's not in it for their own gain.

We should get shot of the lot of them and start again.

ScienceIsTruth · 17/01/2019 21:36

Top of my list would be Corbyn then Sturgeon though. Everyone else ties for 3rd place.

SeaWitchly · 17/01/2019 21:38

David Cameron...
For all the excellent reasons mentioned in the OP.

FaFoutis · 17/01/2019 21:40
  1. Thatcher, always. I'm from the north-east.
  2. Cameron, but he represents many of his ilk.
  3. May, although it is mixed with a bit of pity because she is ridiculous.

Cameron - currently writing his fucking memoirs in a shepherd hut in the cotswolds.
I would love him to publish them and then nobody buys them, nobody turns up to the press release, just.....tumbleweed.

SeaWitchly · 17/01/2019 21:41

Closely followed by George Osbourne and Boris Johnson.

GreenDinosaur · 17/01/2019 21:50

Corbyn without a doubt. Although I have a reserve of hatred left over for Blair.

Wavyheaded · 17/01/2019 22:14

Though I hate to flatter him by calling him a politician which is what the loser most desperately wants, I viscerally hate Nigel Fartarse. Can't bring myself to even say his name properly. The Fascist/Nazi/Racist/Liar/Hypocrite makes me want to puke up my guts. Though he didn't set the vote I blame him for Brexshit in the first place. The sight of his ugly mean eyes and fat toad mouth makes me want to vomit.

Also Cameron. Such a smug, smackable face.

And every Tory actually.

Wavyheaded · 17/01/2019 22:15

In all this Brexshit chaos, I forgot about Thatcher!! Yeah, her too.

Ribbonsonabox · 17/01/2019 22:16

David Cameron

Ta1kinPeace · 17/01/2019 22:18

JRM
Farage
Cameron
Corbyn
Osborne
nowt to choose between them

Moussemoose · 17/01/2019 22:19

Corbyn irritates me for his inaction but he hasn't actually done anything yet.

He hasn't called a referendum. He hasn't started an illegal war. He hasn't deindustrialised large swathes of the country.

He just hasn't done anything.

BertrandRussell · 17/01/2019 22:30

I don’t like Corbyn-but I don’t viscerally hate him. He’s just a “foregettable river smell” to me.
