Which UK politician (past or present) do you feel the most visceral hatred towards right now?

Me: 1. David Cameron although of course it is a very close run thing with 2. Boris Johnson and 3. Nigel Farage - nuff said.

  1. Jeremy Corbyn - but actually I can't bring myself to hate him all that much for not putting up a strong Labour campaign against Brexit because he never pretended he was a Remainer himself. He is and always has been pro-Brexit from a different angle. He probably shouldn't have been elected leader in the first place.

I've voted Labour in the GE for the entirety of my voting life (since 1983) but at this moment I don't actually feel any anger towards Theresa May - I rather grudgingly admire her. She knows her time as leader is short lived. I have yet to see anyone saying anything tangible about how they could have done it better!

Dh and I are both passionate, passionate Remainers. But we can't support a second vote - it will result in the most horrendous civil unrest! Anyone who thinks the 48% who voted to leave the EU will just quietly accept a different result from a second referendum is deluded.

And so I come back to most visceral hatred for a political figure just now = Cameron for putting us here. It sickens me to the pit of my stomach, thinking of him living his rarified, cosy, massively over-privileged Eton-educated life in Chipping fucking Norton, earning millions as a public speaker off the back of his very short time in politics, running away from the mess he created. What a complete and utter ARSE.

Leaving actual political issues aside, because I’ve been talking sensibly about them all evening, I had a pulse of naked hatred at the way John Bercow shouted ORDER and UNLOCK.

BeardedMum · 15/01/2019 21:27

Corbyn

Tough call between Corbyn and Cameron.

Disfordarkchocolate · 15/01/2019 21:29

Old school here. Thatcher, Blair, Clegg the Cameron.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 15/01/2019 21:29

Boom76 · 15/01/2019 21:29

Lovely positive thread Hmm

veeboo · 15/01/2019 21:34

Chris Graying has without a doubt had a catastrophic impact on every department he's been involved with. The prison and probation crisis is all his. HS2. The rail debacle. Etc etc

ManicUnicorn · 15/01/2019 21:35

Jacob Rees Mogg. I still struggle to believe he's a real person and not an actor playing a part.

And yes David Cameron for causing the fucking mess in the first place, and then buggering off and leaving everyone else to clear up the mess in the first place.

ForalltheSaints · 15/01/2019 21:36

Boris Johnson because of the way he treated his shortly to be ex-wife.

WhoGivesADamnForAFlakeyBandit · 15/01/2019 21:36

For the current omnishambles Cameron & Johnson - I'm not sure I could credit Farage with enough influence. And Corbyn being unelectable has made the whole thing worse.

But overall - Thatcher, obvs.

OddBoots · 15/01/2019 21:36

Cameron followed by Corbyn.

JaiNotJay · 15/01/2019 21:38

David Fucking Cameron.

bibbitybobbityyhat · 15/01/2019 21:38

No it's not a positive thread @mellongoose. Would have thought the thread title might give it away! What is the point of your hmphy face?

Cameron and Clegg, the turncoat.

DippyAvocado · 15/01/2019 21:40

It's a tough one but Boris Johnson. He used his personal influence to work for something which he knows was not in the country's interest purely because he thought it would further his own political future. I would argue that he swung the result of the referendum and he is financially protected from any fall-out by his personal wealth.

However, I also completely agree with Cameron for starting the whole business and Corbyn for being so inept at opposing any of this disaster for his own gain.

And I'll add in Ian Duncan Smith because I like to voice my loathing for him and Universal Credit at any opportunity.

Janus · 15/01/2019 21:41

Fucking Cameron for being so bloody stupid and give such a horrendously difficult decision to us. I’m a remainer but didn’t know nearly as much as I do now, I think nearly everyone could say the same. I don’t think we were equipped enough to make such a huge decision.
I too have always voted Labour but can’t approve of Corbyn, he’s not put any argument up. But I don’t rage him like Cameron, it’s all Cameron for me!

Tony2 · 15/01/2019 21:41

The former Labour Minister Lord Robens. He plundered the Aberfan Disaster Fund and refused to accept any responsibility. A shameless cunt. And Thatch, obviously.

RedWineIsFabulous · 15/01/2019 21:42

Corbyn

I utterly despise him. Angry Angry

He is a total snake and I loathe him.
