Roundabout situation - which lane do you use?

Say you're approaching a roundabout that has 3 exits as follows:
Exit 1: At 12 o clock/straight ahead
Exit 2: At 3 o clock/ left
Exit 2: At 6 o clock/going back where you came from.

You need to use exit 2, and there are 2 lanes going round the roundabout. Do you:
A. use the right hand lane all the way round to the exit or
B. Use the left hand lane, moving into the right hand lane once you've passed the first exit?

I know which I use, and what I was taught when learning to drive, but I'm lead to believe there are 2 camps of people on this with differing views. Which lane would you use and why please?

TIA Grin

It depends. When I’m visiting family in cornwall, everyone does A, sonits safer to do A. Everywhere else it’s B.
Cornish drivers though Grin there’s no arguing with them.

It's definitely B unless road markings indicate otherwise. Some roundabouts might have both going right but it would be shown on the road.

There are a few occasions where everyone disobeys the rules so much that I think is it safer to do the right thing or the thing everyone else is doing and is therefore expected!

These threads are funny. It's what the Highway Code says it is. That's it. There is no more. There is a helpful diagrammatic appendix to the code explaining in excruciating detail what to do. All other opinions are utterly irrelevant. In this scenario you approach in the right hand (outside) lane, not because I say so, but the Code does.

This argument makes me SCREAM – I live in Spain where EVERYONE does A and it drives me MENTAL. I

Whenever I raise it, people tell me it's illegal to change lanes on a roundabout, so they always stay in the outside lane all the way around... which begs the question: WHY THE DICKENS IS THERE A SECOND LANE ON ROUNDABOUTS THEN?

What do these troglodytes think the inside lane is FOR?! Decoration?!
