I just looked at Mrs Hinch's toilet roll stamp

What a load of fucking shit.

I'd seen it mentioned on here a couple of times and so I just googled it. Why the fuck would anyone want a drip stain on their toilet roll. As if someone thinks "Oh this is a new roll, great". It's just fucking toilet roll!

I have 10 rooms and 2 staircases in my house. I work full time, I have no energy or desire to “hinch” it.

Maybe I should quit work and clean my house more?

Unobtainable · 13/01/2019 18:39

Theres even an IG group called mrshincharmy where they talk about her and show of their newly cleaned sinks with evangelical zeal. Its almost like the MLM huns have taken over Insta and they have to build up all their friends in the same way as the ‘Soaring Eagles’ did. Wonder if they all belong to the same management agency?

Loved the comment about creating your own stanp using your bum hole! Grin

Every time I read "army" I read as "sheep" :D

The point of folding the bog roll in a hotel is so that you can see that the cleaner has actually been in there since the last guest checked out.

The point of doing it at home? Fucked if I know. Life is too short to investigate.

ThatWasThat · 13/01/2019 19:25

If you have that much spare time on your hands...why don't you switch off that blog and do something more useful instead. To paraphrase.

Alanamackree · 13/01/2019 19:43

I’m grossed out at the idea of the amount of bacteria added unnecessarily to toilet roll just by wetting it and letting it sit around festering.
Mind you, the fact that it has never occurred to me to scrub the bottom of my taps might make my reaction a touch hypocritical. Blush

Beaverhausen · 13/01/2019 20:34

You ladies do know she has a fucking book out that was in the fucking top 10 best sellers list on Amazon in November.

How to use zoflora and scour ebay for cheap tat. Ps I have seen better kitchens from some of her followers.

EnidButton · 13/01/2019 21:09

I tested it on a folded up bit of loo roll and it soaked the middle bit. Wet loo roll is the opposite to clean and hygienic surely?

I suppose people seek out tribes and things to belong to. It feels nice to be a part of something so that'll be the attraction for some. I just don't get how she's the Huns chosen leader? It's not exactly Kim and Aggie level tips, it's literally buy a minky sponge, Zoflora and wipe things with it.

MaHeidsGouping · 13/01/2019 22:00

The amount of links she does for Ebay is unreal. Mrs H wouldn't know where to start if she had to work on a house from How Clean is your house or OCDcleaners etc.

EnidButton · 13/01/2019 22:17

Those Minky sponges are selling for £20 on eBay! Shock They cost about £3 don't they?

EnidButton · 13/01/2019 22:20

Minky things are £2.49 but sold out. They've had to put a "only 3 per customer" rule on them. Then people are flagging them for £20+ on eBay and Amazon.

The world's gone mad!

Having spent most of my life as a chaotic mess surrounded by chaotic mess, I’ve finally managed to become someone vaguely clean and tidy and those cleaning motivation videos on YouTube are a huge help but I cannot get on board the Hinch train no matter how hard I try! Her house is beautiful except the colour! If one room was grey that would be one thing, but the whole house? I was scrolling through her insta and DM caught a glimpse over my shoulder and thought she’d done all her pictures with a black and white filter. Would just depress me to have my house all one colour!

Patroclus · 14/01/2019 01:44

I read a thing about somebody who did manage to produce chlorine gas by mixing chemicals like this and got evacuated the other day,

Patroclus · 14/01/2019 01:46

And after googling to find that story it appears it happens all the time.

GummyGoddess · 14/01/2019 08:42

Today's report - no way it's supposed to be done more than once, the circle embosses all the way down through multiple layers so we just have a random circle on the paper now.

It seems totally pointless unless you have a 'show' roll and only use the stuff under the sink.

RedForShort · 14/01/2019 09:03

I don’t think I’d be too bothered by the house greyness. I think anyone that obsessed with ‘cleaness’ would have their house redecorated (painted at the very least) with extreme frequency. The grey will be gone once it’s no longer trendy.

Though I do think she’s evidently not well. Only had a brief look (no videos) but someone cleaning their sink 15 times with 15 different products surely has a severe OCD. She needs CBT not celebration. A baby, whilst all the assesoires will be insta gold, will be hard to cope with once they get mobile —and get hold of things to smear on walls—.

Aside from that how overpowering much the air freshener smells be in her house? They are everywhere; hanging off radiators, on radiators, down plug holes, on the floor, candles etc.

FrowningFlamingo · 14/01/2019 09:16

RedForShort yes, I think you're right...

"I'm a worrier and I struggle with anxiety," she said. "For me, to keep my mind off of what was worrying me would be to clean and organise something and love the end result."

"It took my mind off worrying. It helps me control my panic attacks too. Since I've started the account others have messaged me saying I've changed their lives and helped them with their mental health which to me is simply amazing."

Halfahunnerstillastunner · 14/01/2019 09:18

@littlemeitslyn Here we go with the foul language again,?does no one have an education?

I have a Masters and other post grad level qualifications and fuck is still one of my favourite words. So do my friends and we have fucking awesome conversations. Haven't you read all the recent research? Clever people swear more, and use swear words very cleverly for effect. Watch some Billy Connelly and lighten the fuck up. Or go to Netmums.

Back to the thread and yes I agree, it's demeaning that women should be made to feel this is the purpose of their lives - to get rid of dirt in a standard house. The internalised patriarchy in one feed.

LemonBreeland · 14/01/2019 09:27

I just recently looked at Mrs Hinch on Instagram as I kept hearing about her and a friend follows her. I just see this boring bland house that she seems to spend every waking hour cleaning. Life is really too short for that shit, and the toilet roll stamp thing is beyond bonkers.

LemonBreeland · 14/01/2019 09:29

I also saw one post that shoed multiple anti-bac products and said one was okay to spray on the pet. I can't believe someone like that has a dog.

tynext · 14/01/2019 09:38

I think her house looks lovely, I love grey/silver although I would want to inject a little bit of colour here and there with it.

I do agree with PPs that the whole housework and ‘hinching’ phase currently going on does seem to be reinforcing ideas about housework/keeping being a fun activity for women. A lot of the ‘hunch army’ posts sound like they’ve been sent back in time 50 years. It will be interesting to see if it’s just a fad that will die down.

I’m sure I read somewhere she is set to make or has made a LOT of money from it. If she can’t keep up to standards with a baby/toddler I’m sure she would be able to afford home help to keep things how she likes it.

Is there any need for the personal attacks about this woman's appearance Hmm

Beerflavourednipples · 14/01/2019 10:10

Her grid is shit, she does everything in her stories. I quite liked her at first, she seems nice, but the whole 'MINKEH, yes maaaaaaate' thing does get tedious quite quickly.

I saw her do the stamp thing a while back and I remember thinking 'ew' at the time.
