I just looked at Mrs Hinch's toilet roll stamp

What a load of fucking shit.

I'd seen it mentioned on here a couple of times and so I just googled it. Why the fuck would anyone want a drip stain on their toilet roll. As if someone thinks "Oh this is a new roll, great". It's just fucking toilet roll!

Does zoflora have airborne heroine in it? Why are people so obsessed with it? It's just a smelly disinfectant isn't it? I mean how can it be brilliant, what does it do other than disinfect and smell?

MLAS · 15/01/2019 08:58

I’m in no way her biggest fan, but it’s apuling that you are all meant to be parents. You’d be the first to kick off if someone had an online thread judging and making hurtful comments towards your children.
Mrs hinch has done no harm other than help people, and towards the comments about no men do it, I’ve actually seen a fair few. Do your research before making misinformed comments. Did you never get taught the saying ‘if you have nothing nice to say don’t say it at all’ 👌🏻

CornishMaid1 · 15/01/2019 09:00

I do like Mrs Hinch (not so much for the house decor photos as whilst it is nice it is not my style, but for the cleaning videos) and it does inspire me to clean a bit, rather than just make DH do it all!

I don't see it pushing women to clean - she just likes a clean house and I know a few women who actually love cleaning.

Toilet roll stamping though is weird and it looks terrible. If you want to go all smart with it, why not just fold it in to a triangle like in a hotel rather than have a wet patch on it which looks gross.

I find the cult of some of these instagrammers equal parts depressing and ridiculous, shove as many products ads in as possible, get your drones fans to buy far too much crap they don't need, get them to attack anyone who criticises.
Also they always come with dubious advice, be that fitness, food etc in this case cleaning and mixing products together.

Mrs hinch has done no harm other than help people

Let’s just ignore the wanton launching of disinfectants and other chemicals into our water system, and that over 1.5million other woman are either doing the same or are being encouraged to do so... And that’s not even considering the lunatic stockpiling of these chemicals and the single use plastics that they come in.

OVAgroundWOMBlingfree · 15/01/2019 09:09

I have little problem with the woman herself, however she has a large audience, a manager, a book deal and is using affiliate links - it may have been pure luck that she got where she did but she is making hay whilst the sun shines and good for her.

However exposing yourself to 1.6 million people on social media and on the television, means you are putting yourself in full view and people will have an opinion. It might not always be an opinion you like but that isn’t your choice.
A critical opinion is not a bad thing. The leap to calling anything vaguely critical “hate” is something that has happened in the past decade or so and it shows a real lack of critical thought processes.
This woman is very much responsible for people buying bottle after bottle of single use plastic, filled with a clusterfuck of harmful chemicals. The mixing of these products and the refusal to sensibly address product and chemical interactions is dangerous.

Attacking her looks or suggesting any mental illness isn’t on but having the critical wherewithal to discuss the damage to the environment, frenzied cult like followers adding to rapmant consumerism and the sheer danger of some ideas is fair enough.

Thinking stamping a loo roll is daft, is fair enough too. If you think that is hate then I worry for you.

Why is a woman being criticised for making money?

Just seen an article in the Guardian today which explains for those "not seeing the attraction" or "getting it".
The author says how she's helped her.

53rdWay · 15/01/2019 09:46

which explains for those "not seeing the attraction" or "getting it".

I don’t think it does really. Cleaning to work through immediate awful grief like the Guardian author describes, I get, I’ve done that. But ‘hinching’ as a way of life and the women showing pictures of their latest massive cleaning product ‘haul’, spending hours a day on it, looking forward to the next chance they get to deep-clean the kitchen because it’s such fun now!, no I don’t get that.

Bowchicawowow · 15/01/2019 09:48

Marilyn I understand the issues about use of chemicals etc but I was speaking specifically about the criticism she had faced on this thread about making money.

Whisky2014 · 15/01/2019 09:54

Because she is using her cleaning obsession to gather fans and followers and exploit them, tell them to go buy chemicals to clean when cleaning like this is not required, bad for the environment, bad for the people cleaning. And that it really targets women which is regressive. Silly women, only good for cleaning. How many men are part of her "army" or following her? I imagine very few.

But really, I just really hate the toilet roll stamp.

Whisky2014 · 15/01/2019 09:57

And its all very well saying why are we slagging off a woman for making money...well because it's the way it's done. Just because you make money doesn't mean it's made in a good way. Do we just applaud anyone for anything because they make some money? No, I certainly don't.

OP posts:
Bowchicawowow · 15/01/2019 10:00

Why don’t you attack the manufacturers, the marketers, the retailers of these chemicals then instead of slagging off a woman from Essex who had hit on an idea and is making a few quid?

Whisky2014 · 15/01/2019 10:02

Because she's promoting it

OP posts:
Whisky2014 · 15/01/2019 10:04

And i started this thread about a toilet roll stamp.
Anyhoo I've just clicked on another article where there is a video of her cleaning her already spotless bath on honeymoon. It's very sad actually because it really does show there is a problem here
Saying it "has to be done" and "no one eill know". She has taken zoflora on holiday with her, she's cleaning an already clean bath. It's weird.

OP posts:
Bowchicawowow · 15/01/2019 10:04

Have you ever started a thread criticising the millions of pounds the people who advertise these products on TV and other media outlets make?

Whisky2014 · 15/01/2019 10:06

Nope. I stared the thread criticising a toilet roll water stamp. No companies would be so stupid to create that

OP posts:
53rdWay · 15/01/2019 10:06

But she is a person who advertises these products, why do you think they’re sending her free stuff to plug on Instagram?

Bowchicawowow · 15/01/2019 10:08

She is making a tiny amount of money compared to the advertising companies. If you all slagged them off too I may have more respect for you.

53rdWay · 15/01/2019 10:13

I have plenty of criticism for the ad industry. I don’t see why having an issue with this “hinching” craze equates to slagging off one woman. Can you explain?

Whisky2014 · 15/01/2019 10:14

No, i just don't buy their shit. I don't need your respect. How will I live without Bows respect?

Had to Google this. Sound like Catherine Tates Nan now, but what a load of old bollocks.
