I just looked at Mrs Hinch's toilet roll stamp

What a load of fucking shit.

I'd seen it mentioned on here a couple of times and so I just googled it. Why the fuck would anyone want a drip stain on their toilet roll. As if someone thinks "Oh this is a new roll, great". It's just fucking toilet roll!

I looked at her Instagram and it was so grey it actually made my eyes hurt.

I have to say I agree with the comments regarding making cleaning a trend. It’s so fucking 1950s.

Also are we really meant to believe someone just happened to join MN and happen to click this thread and happen to object on the grounds it wasn’t a nice mummy support thread? As IF they didn’t join just to say that after seeing the thread mentioned elsewhere Grin

localfluff · 14/01/2019 23:10

Crap. I don't even have a toilet roll to stamp.

Exactly communist. We all know the truth :D

But as a hairdresser if she'd made an account that demonstrated talent and flair then that would be quite a thing. Instead it's all soggy bog rolls and artfully balancing vases on the end of beds and cooker tops both completely pointless. More power to her if it's what she actually enjoys, but it just seems a bit 🤷‍♀️

localfluff · 14/01/2019 23:13

Oh, yeah, not messy at all 😁

@Mamabear8318, that's the bit that baffles me with some - don't like anything about her but still watch. Confused
Or better still "what am I missing, who is she? "OMG her house, it's so grey, and all the people who follow her are sheep haha."
Completely missing the irony of them sheep like going over from MN on the say so of some other posters opinions Grin

Whisky2014 · 14/01/2019 23:19

Basically what I did was:
1)read a couple of threads not about Mrs Hinch but has Mrs Hinch and this toilet roll stamping thing written about which I didn't understand so thought I'd Google.
2) googled toilet roll stamping. It came up with a result I think from that pixie cleaning link and also some link to Mrs Hinch
3)Spend MAX 2 minutes looking on her Instagram only to be met with no actual cleaning tips and a load of grey house photos.
4) start thread about how fucking ridiculous the toilet roll stamping is

Ground-breaking stuff isn't it? No, I'm not jealous, I'm not envious I'm just perplexed!

On previous threads about Mrs Hinch there's always been one poster who posted constantly defending her and I'm wondering if perhaps she's name changed for this one. Her level of obsession with defending Mrs Hinch was amazing and a lot of the stuff she said is being repeated. Hmm

OVAgroundWOMBlingfree · 14/01/2019 23:38

Yep I’m getting the same vibe from the febrile fanatic Lady.

I wonder if schools will start to incorporate this on the curriculum? Obviously it's an essential life skill to have. I'd imagine stamping soggy bog rolls and perfecting the art of balancing vases of artificial flowers on beds will pay the mortgages of the future.

BlackCatSleeping · 15/01/2019 04:39

You don't sound perplexed though, you just sound nasty and sneering.

Is the whole Mrs Hinch thing my cup of tea? No.

I think it's fine to criticise certain aspects, like using too many chemicals or saying the toilet stamp thing looks daft, but I really don't see the need for people to be so bitchy about her. It's not very nice.

FlyingMonkeys · 15/01/2019 05:25

I just disagree with the whole thing in what it's trying to portray to young women. Yes, if you have 4hrs to 'put your sink to bed', then that's great. But in reality most folk don't as working a 40hr week doesn't really lend itself to filling my kitchen sink with Lenor and constantly topping it up boiling water isn't high on my remit. My OH works less hours so in fairness I could ask him to do it instead but I'm pretty sure he'd tell me to piss right off.

derxa · 15/01/2019 05:34

Fascinating. I'm off to google this

derxa · 15/01/2019 05:46
She's not annoying at all and I'm easily annoyed.
BlackCatSleeping · 15/01/2019 05:48

I don't think she's necessarily portraying anything to anyone. I have a friend who makes amazing cakes. She instagrams her cakes and people like them and follow them, and maybe some people may be inspired to copy them, but my friend definitely doesn't feel that people need to copy her. It's just something she's interested in.

I guess this Mrs Hinch just enjoys cleaning and likes taking pictures of her home. I'm not sure it goes any deeper than that really.

Anyway, I'm sure I'll get accused of being of her or whatever. I really don't care. I don't mind a bit of light-hearted ribbing or whatever, but there was a definite nasty tone to some of the posts on this thread and it seemed really unnecessary.

BusterGonad · 15/01/2019 06:35

I don't know much about Mrs H and only knew she existed the other day, but I'm often saddened by women that love house work to the point of obsession! I did a bit of cleaning work myself while my son was at school and the fellow women I worked with were beyond sad. It was literally all they cared about. The excitement over getting a new Henry was UNREAL! I felt like shouting GET A FUCKING LIFE! Of course I didn't! Hmm

FlyingMonkeys · 15/01/2019 06:38

@BlackCatSleeping She's launching a book about it all so I'm pretty sure she's portraying it as much as possible to be honest. And hey that's great for her and not knocking it. Good for her if there's people out there keen to buy into it all at £12 a pop.

comebacksoonsusan · 15/01/2019 07:45

You really can't feel sorry for her; she's literally getting money for old rope.

BBTHREE76 · 15/01/2019 08:04

Threads like this disgust me. She is a person with anxiety and you are getting personal slagging off her decor, lifestyle and just about everything. I don’t get it. If you don’t like her insta account then move on, don’t look. I also have anxiety and cleaning has helped relax me as it does with Mrs Hinch. Before anyone asks I am not OCD, I work full time and I still keep a tidy home. It’s good for my mental health, and if you saw her insta account properly you will see that her (and other accounts) have many people thanking them and saying the same. This thread smacks of bullying, and as I have said before, I only found Mrs Hinch because of a similar thread slating her and so I looked and found a house a bit like mine and a friendly face. If you ever wonder why she’s got 1.6 million followers, a percentage of that will be threads like this and people go to see what the fuss is about and end up staying as she’s great. You need to think about how your throwaway comments hurt people.

cocoajumbo · 15/01/2019 08:14

Her stories his morning are a beautiful example of the Instagram echo chamber.

GlitterStick · 15/01/2019 08:37

how your throwaway comments hurt people

So true. I'm betting a percentage on this thread are parents (obvs not all before anyone says) so it's to me a bit baffling that you'd (presumably!) teach your children not to online bully someone but think nothing of doing it yourself as a grown up.
I think some never leave the school playground even as adults. Kind of like bitch crowd at school grow up into bitch crowd adult version.
