Oops Welshcake77 I got my posters mixed up - get your Einbürgerungstest done!

Bumshkawahwah · 12/01/2019 20:22

North Carolina, USA. I’m an expat.

VioletWillow · 12/01/2019 20:26

*waves Another from Germany checking in. I am an ex pat, really, I could find a German version I suppose but nah, this one is more my cup of tea.

importantkath · 12/01/2019 20:35

@Twotabbycats I'm in CH close to the French border

kalinkafoxtrot45 · 12/01/2019 21:16

A very snowy bit of Germany! 🇩🇪 Got my citizenship now (preens and strokes Ausweis) Grin

franke · 12/01/2019 21:20

Germany, also with dual citizenship applied for after the referendum.

Welshcake77 · 12/01/2019 21:25

@blueskiesandforests I did the test a year ago (I know!) I went to give everything in a couple of months ago and I was missing some Bescheid from the Rentenkasse. That has turned up now though so no more excuses!
I’m going to go to the Amt this week. Will report back Grin

blueskiesandforests · 12/01/2019 21:33

Welshcake77 that's not so bad then, but get it submitted this week, you don't want that nagging element of uncertainty from not having citizenship by the end of March! The duel rules could easily change after that, or visa paperwork could be required - far more hassle!

Costacoffeeplease · 12/01/2019 22:29

British with citizenship applied for

Harebellmeadow · 12/01/2019 23:20

I already posted upthread, but am
here, British but no Germ:an citizenship applied for. Am appalled at my laziness but always assumed there would a transition phase and i would have more time. Hope the dual nationality rules dont change so fast. Help!!(note to self to get a move on)

scaryteacher · 13/01/2019 00:11

No plans whatsoever to apply for Belgian citizenship - in fact we will be moving back to England in the autumn, and I am so looking forward to being back in my own home again.

Toronto, Canada but missing the U.K!!

BertieBotts · 13/01/2019 01:08

I'm in Germany, been here 5 years. I don't want citizenship though, I don't see myself as German at all. I love it here though and it would take quite a lot for me to move back.

BertieBotts · 13/01/2019 01:11

So many of us... We should get the German chat thread going again. I agree German parenting forums are utterly dire. Very very odd. Sometimes I Google stuff in German and come across one. I'm sticking to mumsnet!

mmgirish · 13/01/2019 01:18

I'm in sunny Thailand too but will be moving to Saudi later this year.
