Struggling to find clothes for dd, please help.

Hello, Lovely mumsnet folks.
My dd is almost 13 and she is getting increasingly upset by her size and the clothes she has to wear.
She is quite tiny. Weighs about 4 stone 7 at the very most. (was last weighed in November at 4 stone 4). She is fairly short as well so looks slim to look at but not unhealthily so. She has lived in leggings in the past as she cannot find trousers that fit her without having to have the adjustable waists pulled in so much that they look ridicously baggy at the top. She is desperate for a lovely pair of skinny jeans but they just aren't skinny on her. Can anyone recommend somewhere I can buy her some fashionable teenage clothing in small sizes. She has been in floods of tears this evening (again) as she is getting more and more aware of how her body is different compared to her friends, who are going through puberty and getting boobs and such and she just isn't there yet. I hate seeing her so upset.
Thanx in advance for your suggestions.

How tall is she?

tatyr · 11/01/2019 17:19

Could you get some altered for her?

Seniorschoolmum · 11/01/2019 17:21

There is some stuff in the younger girls range at primark she may like. From aged 5 i think upwards. A lot of it is far too grown up for dd8.

Sickoffamilydrama · 11/01/2019 17:24

They are expensive (even in the outlet store) but Levi's actually do a pair of jeans that fitted my skinny long limbed 11 year old on the waist!!! They have a service that takes them up as well if needed. We tried them in Bicester village outlet

StuntCroissant · 11/01/2019 17:31

OP have a look at the brand Name It Kids. Their Twill Leggings and Skinny Jeans are SO teeny around the waist - the only brand which stays up on DD.

widgetbeana · 11/01/2019 17:34

I was coming in to say 'name it' branded jeans @StuntCroissant !

They are so lovely and fit brilliantly, my dd is very tall but skinny. These are the only type I bother buying now.

SimplyPut · 11/01/2019 17:36

Levi's! They have some half price at the minute and alterations are free. Sadly not cheap at half price though!

SimplyPut · 11/01/2019 17:38

Start from a 23waist/28leg.

Sadik · 11/01/2019 17:38

Have you tried the New Look 'teen' range. Most items seem to be available in sizes 9 years - 15 years, so they're a good option for a tiny teenager. (My dd is 16, and a quick scroll through suggests its very much the sort of styles she and her peers would wear.)

fatoneatthegym · 11/01/2019 17:39

Asos make small sizes.

lotsoffreckles · 11/01/2019 17:44

We have this problem with my DSD, 915 works well. She is 13 and short for her age, wears an age 10 or 11 in 915 jeans. They are not the cheapest for kids jeans at £24.99 but they are good quality. Hope you find something that suits x

HouseBrowniesAtChristmas · 11/01/2019 18:03

Matalan kids jeans do small sizing.

SandysMam · 11/01/2019 18:06

River Island do super fashionable small kids clothes. A bit too adult for 7 year olds if you ask me but could be perfect for your DD.

implantsandaDyson · 11/01/2019 18:11

Have a look at Pull & Bear - from my nosying their stores have better stock than their website but have a look anyway. The best pair of skinny jeans my 13 year old owns came from there. Also Sainsburys do a skinny jean in their girls range - my 11 year old wears them - she has 3 different pairs in 3 colours - they're about £12 and size from about age 8 to age 14, so you could try different sizes see what the lengths are like.

ShaggyRug · 11/01/2019 18:14

Primark ladies size 4. Great skinny jeans.

SpaceCadet4000 · 11/01/2019 18:29

Topshop does skinny jeans down to a 24 waist (size 0).

American Eagle does an online-only 00 with a 23-inch waist + they have an extra short leg length (25 inches).

Abercrombie and Fitch have a kids section with a slim range- I think she would be a 9/10 slim. Their adult range also has a short length and goes down to a 24 waist.

Have you have a look into Asian brands at all? Their sizes are much smaller, I'm a UK 6 and have needed to get mediums from Romwe/Shein. Might be worth researching.

AstridPeth · 11/01/2019 22:17

Thank you for your suggestions. I will look into them. dd3 wouldn't fit into a primark size 4 unfortunately, my 16 year old wears primark size 4 clothes and they hang off dd3 so a kids range would be better. Waist wise she would easily fit into a 7/8/9 (kids) but her legs are getting a bit long now. Thanx again for all your help. Going to go and look them up x

H&M do skinny fit jeans with an adjustable waist up to age 12, which if she's only 139cm should be ok lengthwise.

allwalkedout · 11/01/2019 22:53

Zara kids?

Hello1290 · 11/01/2019 23:03

H and M Kids can come up smallish

Angelinthenight · 12/01/2019 15:37

Another vote for river lsland they have nice things for that age group that is in fashion.

AstridPeth · 12/01/2019 19:49

Thanx for all your help. I popped into primark today and managed to pick up 2 pairs of skinny jeans in an age 8-9 that fit her lovely. So she is really pleased.
