Surviving R Kelly (Warning: Possibly triggering)

Has anyone else managed to watch this? I managed to find a website to stream it (not sure if I can say it here but I can message you if you'd like details of where to watch).

It was one of the most disturbing, shocking & harrowing documentary series' I have ever watched. The depravity and lack of remorse of the man knows no bounds and he seems to be untouchable (more than likely paying witnesses off or intimidating them). He was allegedly sexually abused by his sister from a very young age & although this is certainly no excuse it possibly lead to his very very warped & sadistic treatment of women (sexually and otherwise).

Hopefully the tide is now turning on him though........

I've just finished the series tonight, and feel the same. Absolutely shocked, horrified, dumbfounded that this has / is going on even now?!
I'd always heard rumours but assumed they were just that. But the series has undeniable proof in my opinion, absolutely horrifying. Those amazing women.
If nothing happens now I will lose all hope in humanity.

I haven’t seen it, but have known about him for years. He’s a sick man, and I can’t understand how he hasn’t been arrested...or killed.

NotANotMan · 10/01/2019 21:31

I watched the channel 4 documentaries on him. I'm sadly not surprised.

mumbojumb · 10/01/2019 21:34

I finished watching it earlier today.
I'm so surprised he's a free man, hopefully not for long!

Queenofthedrivensnow · 10/01/2019 21:45

I watched the bbc one is it worse?

throughtheeyeofaneedle · 10/01/2019 21:47

Where did you watch it Op?

jessstan2 · 10/01/2019 21:49

I haven't seen it but things like that really are harrowing. Often the last people you would expect are such perpetrators (Bill Cosby springs to mind, he got away with all sorts for years).

I knew very little about R Kelly but love 'I believe I can fly', and felt disappointed when I first heard about him. Imagine how dreadful it must be, not just for the victims but for friends and family of the perpetrator. You'd almost never get over the shock and would find it difficult to trust people you knew in future.

Magicstar1 · 10/01/2019 23:17

I’m halfway through the second episode, and it seems to be full of men - bodyguards, assistants etc. saying that there were loads of underage girls around, and they were very uncomfortable with what was happening, but that they did nothing.
Am I alone in thinking they were all in on it?

ChesterCake · 10/01/2019 23:19

Can you message me details to watch this?

LucilleBluth · 10/01/2019 23:20

Can you pm me the details please. I've been looking for a place to watch it.

Magicstar1 · 10/01/2019 23:40

@Checkthemeaning please could you pm me as well. Thanks.

AlbertWinestein · 11/01/2019 05:03

Bear in mind that this is a show on Lifetime. Not exactly known for their cutting edge journalism, very known for their sensationalism and terrible
Movies. I’m not defending R Kelly here but this ain’t no CNN.

Checkthemeaning · 11/01/2019 09:03

Hi! It's a website called Mr World Premiere - there's 6 episodes.

AlbertWinestein

What's your point exactly? That all the women and their families, his management, security and everyone else on the documentary are lying?

megletthesecond · 11/01/2019 09:39

It's like Saville. Everyone has known for decades but he's never been investigated by the police.
Terrifying.

Didiusfalco · 11/01/2019 09:43

AlbertWinestein I believe the producer of this is actually very well regarded. Personally I don’t doubt for a minute that the guy is a serial sex offender.

help4 · 11/01/2019 18:02

The website took me a dodgy porn site - not what I wanted to see.

Have heard the documentary is properly done thankfully but I will try but it when it is available.

Checkthemeaning · 11/01/2019 18:47

It worked fine for me and everyone else who's tried it so not sure what happened there!

I think it's released in the U.K. on the 5th February.

There was an article in the paper today from his daughter & the effect it's had on her for her entire life. Yet another victim of his selfish, depraved actions.

TheHobbitMum · 11/01/2019 18:49

OP would you mind PM me the website too please? I'd love to watch this too, I've never heard much good said about him!

help4 · 11/01/2019 19:49

Ok bizarre then I will try it again.
