What is as equally satisfying as crisps but not?

I’m currently on Weight Watchers and using the pointing system...I bloody love crisps but can’t quite justify the 6 or so points! (Minimum..:I love crisps!)
So what can I swap the crisps for? Or does anyone know of any magic crisps that are v low in points for a reasonable amount?!

M & S salt and vinegar crunchy sticks satisfy my savoury cravings - not sure of calories but low. You seem to get a lot too. They are small packs (as opposed to their huge bags) and can be found with the sandwiches.

Thanks all! Some good options here!

InghamHater sadly, just “having the crisps” is what got me into this mess in the first place!

Miso soup has a satisfying savouriness, and a bit of crunch if you put spring onions in.
Not the same, but my crisp substitute.

Salt & vinegar rice cakes?

bibbitybobbityyhat · 10/01/2019 19:30

Large marmite rice cakes spread with salted butter

ItsQuietTime · 10/01/2019 19:31

Popcorn and almonds.

Believeitornot · 10/01/2019 19:32

Pop chips are nice and relatively low fat. I like the chilli ones - almost as good as sweet chilli Doritos. Almost.

Believeitornot · 10/01/2019 19:33

3 points a bag apparently.

Redpriestandmozart · 10/01/2019 19:34

I second kale chips, using black Kale (which I find less bitter), I spread some on a paper towel in microwave and cook for 3 minutes. It crisps up and I dust with a mix of nutritional yeast, sea salt & garlic powder (ground in pestle & mortar) and they taste like cheese & onion.

Crispy baked seaweed. It does not sound exciting but its yummy, nutritious and addictive.

mrsed1987 · 10/01/2019 19:44

Snaps, french fries or quavers are low ish syn on slimming world. Not sure about ww. I couldnt live without crisps though so could justify the syns! Still lost 1 stone in 5 weeks!

I was going to say soup too, as it takes as long to eat more or less.

Aldi do a lentil crisp thing which I've never bought but a colleague gave me to try, they're ok, but don't know whether they're worse than potato crisps.

ShakeYourTailFeathers · 10/01/2019 19:50

Theres salt and vinegar fine rice cake things in home bargains. Taste better than pringles.

Showchin2 · 10/01/2019 19:59

French fries are only 2sp per bag and take ages to eat! I've lost nearly 5 stone on WW so far and couldn't have done it without 'em!

Wotev · 10/01/2019 20:00

Also, it might be the salt you're craving, you if you stick to your guns for the night, you might actually lose a lot of fluid retention. *nods sagely

Harebellmeadow · 10/01/2019 20:03

Roasted corn kernels. Crunchy but also oily. Yummy.

Heratnumber7 · 10/01/2019 20:04

French fries. 99 cals per bag.

PonyoPonyo · 10/01/2019 20:07

Seconding itsu seaweed thins

ineedcoffeecoffeecoffee · 10/01/2019 20:13

Not sure on points because i do sw but i have hula hoop pufts as they are low syn. Or Aldi teddy faces, quavers and sometimes squares. Although squares are normally higher as they are about 5 syns. The others are usually between 3.5 - 4.5 syns. Not sure what they are on ww though.

Oblomov19 · 10/01/2019 20:18

Watching with interest. I've found NOTHING that replaces them. And they are very very high on my list of most important foods. Especially when I'm drinking. So that's a problem.

HettieBettie · 10/01/2019 20:20

Those pop chips?

Mookatron · 10/01/2019 20:26

Nothing. NOTHING. I've had to go cold turkey on crisps. I've had to accept I'll always be an addict who's either using or not using the crisps. Yesterday I saw a woman casually buy a family sharing bag from the co-op and carry it by her side, hiding it in plain sight, down the street and recognised a fellow addict.

Anyway enough of that, one big marmite rice cake sometimes fills the gap.
