What is as equally satisfying as crisps but not?

I’m currently on Weight Watchers and using the pointing system...I bloody love crisps but can’t quite justify the 6 or so points! (Minimum..:I love crisps!)
So what can I swap the crisps for? Or does anyone know of any magic crisps that are v low in points for a reasonable amount?!

Nothing, sadly.

I know it is not the same and a pain to prepare. But if you are desparate: make them yourself. Use a potato peeler or cheese slicer to cut potato into very thin slices. You then season them with garlic, paprica or to taste , then you should pour a little oil on but if properly seasoned I can do without. Put the slices in the microwave and bake till crisp, or make a big baking tray in the oven. By the time their are done, you have probably lost the craving 😀.
But one plate in the microwave is doable.

I try to have mini pickled onions. Crunchy and savoury.
If it's not salt and vinegar you're after though that might not work as well.

25 g of twiglets is only 3 points and is quite a good amount (especially if you don’t really like them!)

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 10/01/2019 13:47

Roasted chickpeas are good, no idea if they are allowed on WW though.

You just get a tin of chickpeas, rinse them, dry them off, whack some oil and salt/pepper/chilli powder/whatever on them, and roast them at about 180C until they go crunchy (20-30 mins or so). They keep for about a week in an airtight jar/tin. I take them to work sometimes because they are a good snack, but there’s lots of protein and fibre in there too.

Kale roasted with a fucktonne of salt
Roasted chickpeas with curry powder tho likely still quite high calorie

hartof · 10/01/2019 13:53

BBQ Pop chips are nice, only 73 cals for the individual packs.

CMOTDibbler · 10/01/2019 13:55

I have to ban myself entirely from crisps tbh - I have no self control at all around them and nothing else works for less calories.

Clankboing · 10/01/2019 13:56

Oven baked kale crisps - a bit like seaweed in taste.

GoldenBuns · 10/01/2019 13:57

Pretzels! Low calorie, salty and crunchy.

bettybyebye · 10/01/2019 13:57

Hula hoop pufts - 2sp a bag
French fries - 2sp a bag
Skips - 3sp a bag
Pom bears - 3sp a bag
Walkers 25g bag (from multipack) - 4sp

Also a crisp lover who hasn’t been following ww for years Wink
I think 4sp for a small bag of walkers is good, ready salted are my favourite.
The other thing I do is drain a can of chickpeas, toss in paprika, chilli powder and salt and roast in the oven for about 30-40 mins. Makes a v crunchy 0sp snack!

StealthPolarBear · 10/01/2019 13:58

You can also buy roasted salted chickpeas from asda, like a bag of salted nuts

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 10/01/2019 13:58

Broad bean crisps

slippermaiden · 10/01/2019 14:01

Popcorn, a few nuts.

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 10/01/2019 14:02

Space raiders are 58 calories a bag

Mountainsoutofmolehills · 10/01/2019 14:04

nothing tastes as good as skinny feels. Your future self will thank you for this!

Robbie and Oprah are on on the new WW advert :)

visualise what crisps are. Solidified salty fat............

RiverTam · 10/01/2019 14:05

nothing, I'm afraid.

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 10/01/2019 14:05

nothing tastes as good as skinny feels

You’ve clearly never had a Greggs steak bake...

Mmmmmmm solidified salty fat.

Actually my best thing. Tastes way waaaaaay better than skinny feels Grin

Nemesia · 10/01/2019 14:08

If you can get hold of them, popodoms that you cook yourself are only 30 cals each when done in the microwave. Spray with oil (if you want) put in micro for 25-30 seconds. Voila, a very crunchy snack.

RiverTam · 10/01/2019 14:09

I have to say I do get the 'nothing tastes as good as skinny feels' - when I was at my thinnest (during a lot of emotional upheaval and lots of booze and fags rather than food, so I wouldn't recommend it) it was a great feeling.

Kemer2018 · 10/01/2019 14:09

Toasted wholemeal pitta snapped into pieces. Crunchy

SillyLittleBiscuit · 10/01/2019 14:10

Can make your own crisps www.thekitchn.com/how-to-make-crispy-potato-chips-in-the-microwave-166718

I promise they're good!

MissBartlettsconscience · 10/01/2019 14:13

Marks and Spencer reduced fat full on flavour crinkle cut crisps are bloody good and 3 points. Unless you eat 2 packets when they become 7 points...

Inghamhater · 10/01/2019 15:31
