Inspired by a pre Christmas thread about Wonky Candles and a poster making a water feature out of a “minge” found in her garden.
I found male gay porn magazines ( in early 1990s ) and on a different occasion money ( 2 £20 notes , I think they were mine , to be fair , caught up in some till receipts for recycling bin )
I am sure Mumsnetters can better this !

Empty jewellery box several months after the neighbours were burgled. Guess we now know what their escape route was.

I don't have a garden but my neighbours found 4 pre-Roman skeletons. Grin

Leela2 · 09/01/2019 19:03

A mightily pissed off adder

Mysterian · 09/01/2019 19:17

Ooh, and a hand grenade.

Turned out to be a dummy training one though. Quite lucky as I had spent a good few minutes trying to break it open before I realised what it was.

LanaLily11 · 09/01/2019 19:19

My parents found a sword! A medievil type thing. They just left it in the shed and have never tried to find out more about where it may have come from etc.

DoubleNegativePanda · 09/01/2019 19:31

A few weeks ago I arrived home to find a green BMX bike with pegs laid down in my drive. No one ever claimed it and the neighbors saw nothing. Too bad I don't have a child that wants a bike, it's an expensive one too!

RoginaInWellies · 09/01/2019 19:34

A Neolithic stone axe head. It had to be handed over as Treasure Trove and is now in a local museum. We got about £60 for it.

Springmachine · 09/01/2019 19:34

An oyster shell (as far away from sea or a restaurant as can be)

newyeardelurker · 09/01/2019 19:40

Half a dead fox. Head neck and one front leg.

There was a bomb shelter built into the wasteland behind our house when we were kids. Made an excellent den!

A snake once at our old house.

Nothing much of interest since.

Mumthedogsbeensick · 09/01/2019 19:47

@elephantoverthehill sorry did you say a young man?!!

Scaredofthegym · 09/01/2019 19:51

I'm laughing my head of at the word 'queem'- I have never in my life heard that word before!

Elephantoverthehill I too found a pair of skiddy underpants - a leftover from one of my teenagers drunken garden parties I suspect. Also a tiny dead mole - I've never seen one before or since, I didn't realise they were so small and cute.

Scaredofthegym · 09/01/2019 19:53

Queef, not queem

StringyPotatoes · 09/01/2019 19:53

A courgette, halved, and both ends placed on the bonnet of the car.

dancinginthekitchen · 09/01/2019 19:54

We found an Anderson shelter buried on our allotment!

lavenderbongo · 09/01/2019 19:56

Medicine and poison bottles, a toy car, a cows skull, a live chicken.

We found the chicken just a few weeks ago. She was very friendly and my husband picked her up and we went around the neighbourhood carrying her under one arm, knocking on all the doors asking people “Is this your chicken?”.

GissASquizz · 09/01/2019 19:57

A hedgehog loudly eating a roast potato.

Hundreds of tiny mosaic tiles.

A reasonable sized snake.

CharlyAngelic · 09/01/2019 19:58

A belfast sink, some Victorian glass and pottery bottles, a toy car, a live tortoise (never found the owner despite trying, and 20 yearslater he is still happily alive!), an ancient donkey shoe, and lots of rubbish

NorksAreMessy · 09/01/2019 20:00

When we moved into a rented farmhouse, I found two wonderful hippies at the bottom of the garden waving crow feathers about and blessing the corpse of a bird.
It was rather sweet

Bluntness100 · 09/01/2019 20:03

Really old booze bottles, from we think the forties, in thr root ball of a huge tree that came down, i surmised that an Alkie had lived here and hid their bottles, my husband pointed out it was probably the site for dumping bottles,, who knows, there were about a dozen. They were obviously buried and the tree roots grew round them.

It's the last thing you expect to see when a tree comes up, 🤣

tryinganewname · 09/01/2019 20:03

A traffic cone

Also when I was a child, I was digging in the garden and found my brother's weed stash in a baccy tin (my brother is a lot older than me btw) I thought I had found treasure so gladly showed it to mum, who flushed it down the toilet Grin
